That pretty much describes my group of friends. (But not me, I never managed to get into anime, for some reason.) I personally don't mind, it's geeky but they're very nice people.

10, I suppose. I don't know too much about animal abuse, but I can't stand it when people mistreat animals, even if they are just simple brine shrimp

Even worse when people mistreat humans, or kill them, without a second thought.

I guess everyone's entitled to their opinion. Like, I personally don't really think about the treatment of animals, although if the opportunity arises for me to help stop animal abuse I always contribute.

I dunno, you know, because
a) You thought it was manga (really...)
b) You're into the environment and animals
