Ok just got my new bator up and running, inubator thermometer oin out side is reading a degree diffrent then my digital therm. The glass probe thermometer is reading dif by 10-15 degree's which should I agree with? ( This came with the F.I pro series.)

The digital thermometer is probably the closest. If possible(some thermometers will not read high or low enough) check the thermometer with ice water or boiling water.

Calibrate the glass probe thermometer with ice water and you will know the true reading with that.

I am going to be in a lot of trouble, but I am looking for a second bator to use as a hatcher   !

I was wondering if anyone had used either one of these models? I have a Genesis 1588 for hatching, which I love!

They seem like good deals, and plastic to boot!

I have the second one and manually turned the eggs, I only hatched 12 eggs but 9/12 hatched.. It was my first time hatching and was happy with the result!

I'd recommend turning it on a few days before to get the humidity stable as it took me a bit to figure out how much water to add.

I am in Australia and only paid $60 aud for mine

Goodlyck

Thanks!

How long do I calibrate the therm?

How to Calibrate a Thermometer

  • Fill a glass with as much crushed ice as you can and fill the remainder of the space with distilled or filtered water. If you do not have distilled or filtered water, use clean tap water.
  • Stir the ice chips and water.

  • Insert the thermometer's probe or stem into the middle of the glass so that it is not touching the bottom or sides of the glass. Submerge at least 2 inches of the probe into the ice bath.
  • Hold the stem in the ice bath for 30 to 60 seconds.
  • Adjust the hex adjusting nut under the head or dial of the thermometer so that the temperature reads 32 degrees F, which is the freezing point of water. If you have a digital thermometer, press the reset button to adjust the temperature.

Thank you! Got both the glass probe and digital reading the exact same, the thermometer that is on the bator reads 95 with 80% humidity digi reads 65% and at 99 degrees! And the glass therm is reading 99-99.5! :) I'll check it in the morning. And I accidently put too much water in! Also should I remove one or both of my vent plugs?
