What are you going to do with 15 roosters? Unless they're meat boys

Well, 7 of them are Seramas, so tiny, but a housing problem all the same. I'm gonna give 3 or 4 away. I have 2 Splash Silkie roos that are alone, as I have no Silkie pullets and the LF roosters beat them up. I have 1 D'Uccle Roo that is for my D'Uccle hens. 3LF Roos that do need to go on to chicken soup, when I find someone wanting to do it, and 2 LF I'm keeping for the flock. AND THIS EASTER HATCH WILL BE THE LAST HATCH OF THE YEAR FOR ME!!!! I keep telling myself that,at least!

I face this dilemma all the time! I live in the City and am not allowed to keep roos. I have a Blue Barnie Olive Egger to rehome and probably 3 Crele Penedesencas. The Barnie will get big enough to make a good dinner but the Penes are not big boys.

Maybe I will take them to the auction.....

I am incubating in a Brinsea Octagon 40 and hatching in the Genesis 1588. I have two of those and also have the second one incubating too. Staggered hatches are fun! I hatched UofA blues over the weekend and put 6 Crele Penedesencas into lockdown last night. Next Friday I hatch 13 Bresse eggs. I also have 45 Dorking and Delaware eggs hatcing in a couple of weeks and then 15 duck eggs set to hatch in 3 weeks. Next Wed. I will be adding 15 Heritage RIRs from Ron Fogle. Mid March I am getting a dozen Heritage Black Australorps.

I swear I will be done after that. I will be setting more Dorkings for the Hatch a long. I hatch for others and may be hatching for a local egg farm as well as the Breeder from Guinda.

I can't afford a Brinsea at this time, but I keep going back and forth on getting another Genesis 1588. I was thinking maybe the less expensive 1583, but I can't decide! Ugh, I am going to get in trouble with my hatching

If using it for a hatcher, the plain 1588 is not too expensive--especially compared to the price of Heritage hatching eggs....It really helps to have a dedicated hatcher for staggered hatches.

True, especially with the cost of some shipped eggs.

Count me in! I have some hatching eggs shipping on the 6th and they should be here at the perfect time to join in!
So excited! I will hopefully be adding Black Copper Marans, Blue Copper Marans and Lavender Orpingtons to our little flock here at Butterbean Acres! Woohoooo

Going to join in. My first time to let my girls brood. Going to do it Gods way. Let them do all the work and watch with amazement. Wow! Wish me luck. SO EXCITED
GOD SAID TO BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY
