Im in! was thinking of setting eggs for Easter anyway, the kids love to see the chicks.

So now the contests are only open to US residents? Does that include the Hatch-along as well? How disappointing

I was so hopeful this hatch-along would be more inclusive rather than less. Very disappointing indeed.

Are you sure you read that right. I hope it isnt true.

I will be firing up each and every incubator that is actually still functional and anticipate (does quick calculations) setting about 150 eggs, both chicken and duck. Never had company before for this sort of thing, how exciting.

Would you believe this is the first year I won't be taking part....

I have had to let my chickens go to a local good home (thanks Adrian) as my health has finally got so bad I could not longer look after them well enough. So, a whole load of reorganising before I foray back into the chicken rearing world. Incubators still in the shed, all wrapped up. So sad.

That's too bad Sarah! We'll miss you!

WOW! First I've seen the thread and look how long it is! I"M IN!!!! Do I need to contact someone? I didn't see that mentioned on the first page.

GOOD THURSDAY MORNING! I was up half night digging up and fixing our septic tank. Kinda. I have it working now. So much rain here had everything saturated. But it had a piece of a rig for a pipe. Ugggghhh. I can not stand for someone to half do something. And we have more rain coming in. I have to put. Piece of pipe in and cover tonight after I help coach my youngest son soccer game at 7,after working all day. Oh yea all by SHOVEL. I will probably rent or borrow a backhoe and uncover the whole thing to examine it later on.Makes me wonder how many more short cuts and rigs I will find. They did more work rigging than getting the proper piece of pipe and putting it in there. Wrong pipe, that they rigged was collapsed and the other piece they had it stuck into was a piece of terracotta pipe which was 2 inches bigger so they did not line up. Ugghhh! And was letting dirt into distribution box!! Yes by now you can probably tell I have installed a few septic systems. Sorry for Ranting..... you guys are awesome!!

I am getting ready for the hatch. I have about 60 + eggs on incubation now. And will set for the hatch. How in the world do I keep coming up with more eggs to hatch.lol I can not resist. I keep the ones I want and give or sell the others. Serious chicken math. Wish the feed did also, I would really be over run with chickens. Have a good day!

Ugg, Sorry for your headache. At our old place we had constant septic problems. i was so relieved when we bought our new farm and it had brand new septic and leach field! Such a relief!

Go to page 1 and look at the contests. there is one that is guessing the total # of eggs set by everyone. this needs to be done by set day. then on set day you would set your eggs, take a pick so the # of eggs set and post the pic in this thread for verification so it can be verified for contests ie: best hatch rate ect... dont tell the # of eggs you are going to set before then. What breed you plan to set is free game.... tell us about it.

The "How many total set" guess deadline is March 1st.
