Welcome!! I'm on my 3rd and 4th hatches of the year. I have a broody sitting on about a doz eggs and and incubator with another doz in it. Ducklings start hatching next tuesday and will hatch over the week with the last one due to hatch March 6th. I dont know about you but hatching eggs is addicting for me. I love hearing the little peeps!!!!! Happy Thursday.

excellent then count me in :) do i need to give any info like what breed i am hatching or how many eggs ?
Go to page 1 and look at the contests. there is one that is guessing the total # of eggs set by everyone. this needs to be done by set day. then on set day you would set your eggs, take a pick so the # of eggs set and post the pic in this thread for verification so it can be verified for contests ie: best hatch rate ect... dont tell the # of eggs you are going to set before then. What breed you plan to set is free game.... tell us about it.

So now the contests are only open to US residents? Does that include the Hatch-along as well? How disappointing

I was so hopeful this hatch-along would be more inclusive rather than less. Very disappointing indeed.
I know how you feel. U live in The US but have "liked" a few sites on FB such as Vermx. Vermx had a promotion to try some if their product and I was not eligible because of location.

I am going to be in a lot of trouble, but I am looking for a second bator to use as a hatcher

!

I was wondering if anyone had used either one of these models? I have a Genesis 1588 for hatching, which I love!

They seem like good deals, and plastic to boot!

They are actually the same model (I believe). They're a pretty decent 'hands-on' incubator. I got one as my first incubator and loved it. I wouldn't really recommend it as a hatcher, though, because of the fan. Ideally, you want a still-air hatcher, so fluff doesn't stick to everything. It's a bit of a pain cleaning around the fan blades. If you can't find a cheap still-air one, then this is a good option.
