Gotta get up and go do morning chores, then off to church... After that, I have NO obligations for the day!! When I told my kids that last night, my son looked at me with the most incredulous look on his face... It certainly is a rarity for us... We're going to ride the horses, go sledding, deep clean the barn, and maybe just relax for a change!!

Time to go see how the newest member of TMNfarm fared his first night home. We still need to name him. I was thinking "Crash" would be appropriate!

I really want to come to your house today. That just sounded too much like Little House on The Prairie (best T.V. show EVER). Have Fun. Off to church for me and then cleaning ALL DAY for DH's cousins to come stay for a week!

Guess what?? Prim laid her first egg since going broody and raising her chicks! First egg in about 5 months from her!! Yay!

I went to Aitkin to pick up a Tom turkey from e fellow BYC'er today... On the way back from their place, I buried my truck in a ditch at the end of a very slippery county road... Had to call a tow truck to pull me out! Thank goodness for iPhones to look up,stuff like that when I'm in the middle of nowhere! I told my kids that's one expensive turkey! Lol!!!

I'm glad no one was hurt.

Well I didn't expect any of my eggs to be fertile since the girls are just coming off strike and had quail hatching like crazy for week. I upped the humidity to much, to often and ended up with tiny aircells. Didn't expect anything and I had 2 so far either pip or partially zip and then were to big to finish hatching. I do have 2 out though. An OE and a Blue Copper Marans. I still have 2 pr 3 more hatches before we set for Easter.

Hello again. Anyone i owe eggs to from the NYD contest, I have good news my girls started doping their job again. The d'Uccles are slow at getting started, I have someone in the mottled pen laying now. After I confirm fertility I will be getting eggs out.

Ok so I just went in to check on my 2-3 month old babies and my little cockeral's crop is HUGE! I felt it and I could feel nothing but grain. I think my son may have tossed them some grain. I don't have grit advailable to them yet I plan to buy some soon. His breath doesn't smell sour at all. He's still very active and hopping around and acting just like a kid being the nut he really is. I offered them some sand and dirt and they pecked at that. Is there anything I cans do?!

Looks like there's about 300 folks joined in this year so far.

Turned the eggs collected yesterday, brewed coffee, let the chickens out.
Lazy Sunday with nothing to do but wait for my two egg cartons to fill up over the next two weeks.

Will eggs 2 weeks old still develope well? I was thinking of starting collecting next weekend but I cant decide whats a good day.
