I received 33 eggs total today and only ordered 24!

nancy was nice enough to send 6more and dick horstman sent 3 extras too! Of the silkies i received 6white, 6black, 4buff and 2 partridge

a great mix and i originally asked for more whites and blacks. All are safe and resting in the hatch/brooder room right now pointy side down

still not 100% sure when I'm going to set them.


They both did a fantastic job packaging too!

I did get a few elongated oddly shaped ones from dick, I took some a picture of them and wondering if they won't have as good of a chance of hatching or? I will post that in a little while when I get back from picking up Noah.

...oh and any clue what SPR labeled on a rir egg or any egg would mean?

Correct! The caption said carrot and peppercorn... Great guess! Tho I like the idea of using olives, or maybe red onion. A bit more edible.

I'm make these before, but I use olives and for the beaks I'm tried several things. Carrots, dark yellow bell pepper, pimentos (ya you gotta do those gently.)

I need an adjudicator to tell me if I am in or not.

I will be arriving on a plane in the Phils on Easter Saturday so I cannot have eggs hatch that day but....

I have 70 odd eggs I set on Sat (a week early) and I have 48 eggs I am setting by proxy this saturday (due to a wrongly shipped order)

I have a hen laying slightly elongated eggs  too and I'm setting them to eval hatchability!

I think I have 3 so I suppose we can do this experiment together, it just seems maybe their wouldn't be proper/adequate room for a chick to develop? But maybe I'm wrong.

I meant pointy end down! Oops! But yes they are all pointy end DOWN with fat end UP resting thanks for catching that lol ... I'm in a rush right now, today has been wild!
When I went to pick up my rir eggs my silkie eggs were sitting right their and they failed to let me know, so I had to make a whole other trip. Which is ok, I'm just glad all the eggs are OK! But he did apologize when I got their in person, I don't believe they knew how to read "handle with care" or "fragile" as both times the eggs were dropped then slid to me over the scales! Lol I'm standing gritting my teeth like Ahh! Silently!
