Yes, he's a Royal Palm.

I think he's one of the prettiest turkeys I've seen. And, I'm not a turkey fan for looks in those big guys, but he is handsome. He looks like he has a red bow tie on. )

Finally had a chance to candle tonight! Out of our 54 eggs, we had to pull 8:

1 of 4 shipped CCL, clear
1 of 2 shipped Russian Orloff, bloodring

1 of 10 B/B/S Ameraucana, clear

1 of 10 picked up Russian Orloff, clear

and of our homegrown, 1 Maran, 2 Welsummer and 1 Ameraucana

That leaves us with still having 48 eggs in a 42 egg turner. Ah well, it fits 50 for hatching!

Yes, handsome devil, isn't he?  And he thinks so too.  The worst part, I have 6 of those big boys (RP & Slate) and 7 lovely MUCH smaller hens.  That pen goes through more food than half the other pens combined.  I think I need to get Easter dinner out of the pen.............


Well, you can only put in one egg if you want (as if any of us would).  The possibilites of all that empty space made me giddy!

I have already got over 4 dozen eggs In There. Over half are mine and a dozen are a friends! My polish just started laying! I can't wait to see what their babies look like. I will keep hens and send Roos to auction. Well I will probably keep a few Roos. Everyone at all of my multiple dr office want fresh eggs so I have a waiting list for eggs this summer! So I will need lots of hens. I have almost 100 chickens and ducks and just added quail.

Oh and the best news of all our longhorn cow had a baby sat at noon. A little bull calf we have named deep freezer! Lol he will be in there in a lil over a year!

11 days and I will have baby chickens running all over the brooder!!!!

But usually by lockdown, I have empty spaces....

... I also usually incubate shipped eggs....
