Well, I think I've been home for the past hour. I won't know anything until my next appointment though. I wish they hadn't stabbed me in my left arm 3 times and the final time in my right, but I'm just glad it's over with.

Just got back from the post office with my chick order... but they are the wrong chicks. I have already figured it out with the hatchery and they were great and easy to work with, but I thought it would be fun if everyone guessed what they were. (although what the hatchery says they are and what i think they are is still different- so this will be a fun experiment)

Quote: Yep, my first and only! I've read that it can be temporary, but it scares me all the same. My grandmother on my mom's side had diabeties and my cousin on my dad's side has a very mild form of it. I'm hoping I don't have it either way.
Raz-- I had gestational diabetes too. It was my wake up call. Diabetes II is preventable-- all about correct diet and exercise. Not just you but everyone. During the pregnancies I found new foods to eat, revisited old favorites, and pushed the cakes and cookies out the door. I ate Ben and Jerries Icecream though!! While preg my goal was to keep the blood sugars running steady all day, and let them drop over night. I often had salads or green beans in the morning to prevent spikes.

Since then( my kids ae 9 and 10) I have found MANY low carb sweet treats and confections that don't cause blood sugar hiccups!! My youngest just asked to have cake in a cup, chocolate of course. I like mine with peppermint extract.

Just the way he's standing and the look on his face, nothing scientific about it I assure you, but I have a 50/50 shot of being right :)
