Checked on the eggs under the broody and there's some movement. Got the brooder all set up and ready to go. This is so eggciting

Congrats, you are right, no sleep..you will be up and down like me last night! I still have them coming..so, another sleepless night!

For those of you with chicks with issues, Kleenex boxes with the tops cut off work wonders for isolating chicks in the brooder.

Oh my goodness..what a neat idea. Sometimes things like that are right in front of your eyes...litterally..I have a box of Kleenex right here on my Computer desk. lol.. I am going to try that for sure.

Hmm... Okay.. I changed the band aid tonight... She is using her legs more to hop around, but she keeps rocking back onto her hocks and walking on them instead of her feet...

She's VERY perky and loud and seems to be holding her own... Gosh I hope she figures out how to stand up. I'm glad to know it can take longer to correct... I feel a little better about things. At least I am seeing improvement in her mobility...

on another topic... my little one who couldn't stand and spent the day in the teacup is perfect now. :) she was VERY wobbly until even last night, but today has finally got it all figured out. I know she will make it now...
That is so great! Your heart just goes out to these little guys. so glad she's better.

My first hatched this morning, and two more are almost out. A bit early. but then I upped the temp because everyone was hatching 24 hours late. Can't win. lol

3 speckled sussex out, 3 ameraucana/ barred hen sexlinks pipped.

Can't beleive the days flew by sooooo fast!! Need to scramble to put together a new brooder tomorrow. Back up tubs are always an option!!

There you are! I was just wondering yesterday ~ where is that Arielle? Time goes by fast for us old folks don't ya know! Especially when you are having a good time.

Great to hear that everyone's hatches are going good......me on the other hand.... Out of 12 eggs, 11 of them were fertile and developing, so my hopes were up. Seven of them made it too lockdown, so I guess that was good. From there there were only two that were alive and started pipping, after piping a hole, they both died. I have no eggs hatching, all dead, all a waste of time. I think my LG incubator has served it's purpose long enough.....time to toss it and get a new one.

On the bright side, I already have a brooder full of 34 chicks and 2 ducklings......so this bad hatch isn't hitting us too hard. Hope everybody else's hatches go great. Good luck everybody!!

I use an LG also. Many reasons for the chicks to not hatch so late in the game. I watch the temp as often it rises in the last few days as the chick's heat adds to the temps. And I keep the air flowing well with open vents and a fan.

Sorry none of these hatched. Very dissappointing. I have a couple duck eggs in also. WIll see how these fair-- I don't have a great hatch rate with my lack of special care. lol Just a few are enough anyways.

Nothing at all happening here. NUTTIN!!

Me either, I'm just trying to give them time and focus on other things. I could probably do some laundry or vacuum... if I were so inclined. :p

Same here. Tomorrow, I will spend more time watching the 'bator. I do have to watch (or delete) a bunch of programs on the DVR right now so it doesn't fill up over the weekend.
