Ive been so busy working remodling a bathroom I feel like im never home. Hell be ok Ill give him a wonderful date night this weekend(If im not playing with my new incubator lol)

Be careful what you wish for... Last year (Lord I hope he doesn't see this) DH did all this stuff in the bathroom, big bubble bath, rose petal soap, candles, a teddy bear, beautiful card, left me in there alone to relax alone with no kids. Sound nice? I sat there mentally adding up all the money he spent, and all the chicken things I could've bought with it. Instead, I smiled and said how thoughtful, and lovely it all was. For a solid year I asked for chicken anything, statue, knick-knacks, keychains, chicks, and as of yet, NOT A ONE!! Some men just don't get it!

That is hilarious

I would have been sitting there doing the same thing lol. Last year Hubby got me a $300 Spa gift Certificate, was very nice but its not really my thing. Its Still sitting in my desk drawer untouched lol. I think he learned, this years gifts have been great.

Welcome! Once you start hatching, you cant stop... it's addictive (I'm on my 3 hatch now) I have Easter Eggers, Leghorns, Cochin Bantams and ducks. Looking forward to hatching with ya!

I hope its not to addictive! I already want to hatch some of the fancier Orpington colors, Marans, Welsummers... Ok that goes on long enough on its own. I built a "Cooler" Incubator I am doing this with my four kids. If this is too addictive there will be no voice of reason to stop me :p

Hello Everyone, My name is Seth and I am fairly new to BYC I have been a long time lurker and I love the information provided here on this website and its forums!

This will be my first *real hatch*, I would love to join in on this myself. My silkie Roo "Him" just passed away two weeks ago so right now I am trying to hatch out the last 6 eggs that my girls layed right after he passed... But I want in on this too! Going to have to get me some fertile eggs though. Oh the breeds I would love to set!

Welcome Seth. These hatchalongs are so much fun. You make lots of new friends and get to share in everyone's excitements and disappointments. Don't be shy. Post away. There are even contests with prizes for random posts. Check out the Buy-Sell-Trade area of the forum and maybe you can find someone to buy some eggs from.
Sorry to hear about your roo. I lost my favorite roo last month and it still hurts.

Ummmmm. I built my own coolerbator last July with the intent of hatching a few chicks so we would eventually have fresh eggs again. I ended up building a second bator to use as a hatcher and then bought a Sportsman a few months later. I now have over 80+ birds, chicks are hatching as we speak and tomorrow I am going to pick up more chicks that were delivered to a friends house.

Raz-- buy as much second hand clothing as you can, and baby blankets, too. ( Blankets are for laying the baby on the floor NOT for in the crib) The babies grow out their clothes VERY fast and into the next size. Cloth diapers come in new designs, wash and hang to dry = much cheaper than years of disposables. Lots of ways to cut costs. Find a mothers group to connect with, and get hand me downs from those friends. I often find a bag of childrens clothes under the hay tarp! lol
my kids always wear hand me downs or i go on craigs list, i refuse to pay ridiculous amounts for clothes
.

they are not too shabby

How beautiful and handsome your kids are and I used to sew my kids clothes, because way back then clothes were too much too and not a thing wrong with a good hand me down.
