Wow, finally caught up again.
are they Khaki Campbells?

Sorry, I was off bathing chickens all day today for this weekend's show. They are cayuga.

I had them pack the eggs using the Skyline Method and then used the tips for hatching shipped eggs. Of course the eggs where brought in as carry on...or as baggage. I did not ask about the details since it was kind of like smuggling.

You might want to avoid discussing that on an open forum, that is SO illegal.

You need some paint silkies!

I believe she was talking about a baby crib............she's preggers!

I hatch pullet eggs frequently. Never have had an issue hatching them - got 6 due to hatch tomorrow.

x 2, if it's something I'm really looking forward to (and which aren't I?), it goes in from the very first egg.

I just hatched my BCM pullet's eggs # 4,5,6. The eggs were so pretty I couldn't resist. I was nervous as all get out they wouldn't be able to get out of the tough shell. All hatched beautifully!
All the breeds I have are in my signature. The only ones laying right now are the Blue/Barred Rocks. The chicks from them are so pretty too. Living on 10 acres helps with having a lot of chickens too...LOL.
I know, right? That's my excuse too!

Oooooh I so wanna join! My first ever eggs were set on feb 2nd but almost all of my expensive Coronation Sussex eggs are duds so I'm looking for something else. March 9th sounds just about right for attempt #2.
Sounds Good, Just Do It!!!

Hatching is therapeutic for ...whatever.
Drat I dont think I can milk 48 eggs out of my silkie and my Turken even if I was to squeeze the eggs out of them! That is my kind of math though. Yes we have a few vacancy's right now we lost our two best roosters leaving us with just the one semi-affectionatly known as 'NightMare." Says how much we like him right? A family up the road really loves our Roo and will hopefully be taking him off our hands. I want to get a nice white cochin roo for my outdoor girls...
Tom my partner is devastated over the loss of his personal lap type silkie roo HIM. He wants to get another silkie roo with time.
Awww maybe he's related to my wonderful boy, goes by the name of "get away from me you piece of $#!&".

TSA is ok with taking eggs in a golf bag but god bless you and your house silkie. will it wear diapers?

Ohmygoodness, yes, of course! I just ordered one for her..... Thought I had a non-broody silkie which would need one for wandering around the house. Because she goes out into my fenced garden during the day for a dust bathe and a bit of scratching, she might -if she truly is broody - possibly do the broody poop out there... Really doesn't make sense to keep her in a diaper all the time if she's only going to come out of her brooder bin once a day. But I'll have it if she's not serious about being broody.

She came from some people who had to bring her inside after she was feather pecked very badly twice. I already had a special needs (and diapered) LF Polish rooster in the house, who'd suffered the same thing three times, to the point of being blinded in one eye and maybe even encurring some brain damage. He was quite addled but oh so dear.

Jack has since passed. Sparkle is much smaller than most of my hens, except for Alice the Silver Sebright and the various bantam ladies: Angel EE, Monica & LilBit dark Brahmas, Grace & Jane mixed small somethings, Barbie Barnvelder. They're the only bantams and they all roost in the coop rafters. Poor Sparkle can't fly....

GOOD MORNING ALL! HOPE YOU GUYS HAVE AN AWESOME FRIDAY! My wife and I are heading to Savanna this morning. We are riding with another couple. We have a conference / retreat to go to for our church, being I am on the board and they are head of missions. We have to be there by 10 this morning . This evening we are going to a nice Restraunt called Alligator Soul. It serves some exotic food such as Elk,Bison,Kangaroo, Yak,and Silkie Chicken. I have heard that is a very good Restraunt. I wonder if they would make me a platter of all.;)
On a different note I set 64 eggs in incubation. I do not know why I keep hatching.lol. It is so much fun. My wife, my boys and I love to hatch them.:D
So much fun.
