trying out my bator - think i am going to drive my hubby crazy with the temp checks and the pacing... there aren't even any eggs in it yet!!

So I did it,I jumped right in and I rotated pens, finally made my Breeder coop. I did it today after work. I cleaned out both coops and moved my Marans Rooster and the 3 Marans pullets in with some of my older girls. And took a few of the older girls out and put them in the now Layers coop. There were a a few small scuffles but I think all will be well. He even mated My BR hen. So heres hoping for some fertile eggs for this hatch along. If my Marans rooster Does his job well, I will be setting Pure Marans, Marans over EEs(so F1 OE), and Marans over Barred Rocks(so Black Sexlinks). And I will also be setting my Japanese Bantams eggs.

I have this too, but haven't found a good block of time to read it. Bad habit of reading a book in its entirety in one sitting - though I have gotten a little better about "putting the book down" so I can get some sleep. More incentive to start reading it when it is given a good review by others.

*My teen daughter read "Gone With The Wind" last year for an American Author paper for school. She didn't want to read it, but I told her she'd love it. Funny thing is, she Did love it!

Well, now I want to read it! I think I will. I just looked up memorable quotes from the movie and got butterflies! Think it's time to watch it again. BTW, Love this line

Who else is sick of this winter weather. It is freezing here today, wind is biting like a pit bull and the snow is whipping around, I was supposed to ship out some started chicks today and opted out, didn't want the bitties to turn into ice chicks.

Sick, snow took my sat dish out for the day!! OMG what ever did I do??? uggggg what a boring day of cleaning!

I'm in! I'll be hatching Easter Eggers (of course) Olive Eggers and a few Ameraucanas. Good luck everyone!

Read the book you will Love it! I just watched North & South Book 2 this past weekend and realized they used the same house from Gone with the Wind in that movie. I have named some of my chickens for Gone with the Wind. My beautiful Black Op roo is Rhett and bk hen is Scarlett, and I have a Bonnie Blue.

Sorry for changing the subject from the hatch but, I'm sitting on my hands waiting on eggs in my incubator.

Anyone here have any reviews on the Pro-Series Circulated air incubator w/automatic egg turner? That is the incubator I plan to purchase or would I be better off just buying the LG still air and Turner separate?

I think a circulated air incubator will do better for you. imho Good Luck and Good Hatches.

Ok, so my fiance thinks I'm crazy and I halfway think I'm crazy too, but I went ahead and just got the Sportsman 1502 digital and some trays it should be here by March 1 so I will have it for the easter hatch WOOHOO. Now to find eggs LOL. I want to make up the money for the incubator selling chicks, but if I'm buying shipped hatching eggs I'll have to sell the chicks for outrageous prices. I was thinking I'll get some at the livestock auction they had some last time I was there!
