We just had these about 2 hours ago:

Adorable!

I just had some more room in my incubator open for the hatchalong. These little cuties have hatched out in the past few days. Except the little bantam chick in there. She's 5 weeks old and tiny, so I put her in there to show the new babies how to eat and drink.

I got offered a deal I can't resit. My Amish neighbor came over today and asked if I was still incubating, I just looked at him and said you betcha, he said to me that the guy he raises pigs for now wants to do turkeys and is going to bring him 6 turkeys over to breed, 1 tom and 5 hens and they want me to incubate them, I was like really, he said after they find out how many, we will work the monies out, So I get to hatch turkeys, Now it's time to fire up the Old Farm Master incubator

Maybe someone can help me on humidity issues ......my chicken eggs are on the 5 th day and I just got a monitor for humidity over the wknd and after 24 hrs it is at 62 % I have read on here that that is way too high

what levels should I try to keep it at till lockdown and is this going to hurt the hatch? Thanks !

You must remember that incubator instructions refer to wet bulb

http://www.easycalculation.com/weather/embedded_dewpoint-wetbulb-calculator.php

if your room is 1000millibars, 72 degrees and has a relative humidity of just 25%, you would get a wet bulb humidity of 55%

my advice is

take the water out of the bottom, open the plugs and dont add water till day 18 then add plenty of it

others will tell you different so read and decide for yourself.

just got back from the grocery store, apparently EVERYBODY is stocking up for the big storm. weather dude says 20 more inches of snow, not counting the freezing rain we are supposed to get. dont forget we already have 12 inches on the ground, not as bad as snowstorm Nemo though!
half the shelves were empty, the shelf stockers couldnt put food on the shelves fast enough!

i just set eggs under Jo this morning, i think i will move her into the garage to keep her warm. gonna have to stock up the chickens water/feed in case we dont wanna go out tomorrow. yuck
i got eggs coming from MO. glad they are on their way. take care y'all
