Ditto, I live on two acres and 1 acre is wooded. I have lots of Arborvitaes in my yard for hiding places. I did buy some strong netting to go over the coop this spring, for when I have babies.
I have free ranged my birds for the last 3 years during the warmer months. Had my first hawk attack last summer. All he got was a bunch of feathers. I attribute my bird's survival on plenty of hiding spaces throughout the property. Lots of shrubbery! Its the foxes that are my biggest problem every year. Think I'll go check out your thread Sally!
On a lighter note, here's another lovely gift from the hubby from his trip. Coasters!

Found the first pullet egg yesterday from my young Iowa Blue quad at POL, so maybe I'll have some eggs from the new group to incubate as well!

No Muscovy for this round, but here's one from last round! DS2 loves his duckies.

2 Ameracauna are out, 2 are pipping! (with some help from the hatched chicks!)
