You have given it a good shot, the tissues need time to heal and the swelling to shrink. Might need more time, like another week. Remember how long it takes a cut to heal . . .healing talks7-10 day.

I had a ewe with a problem like that, we put her in a horse trailer on a slanted board to use the weight of the uterus to pull itself in. Sorry you can't do that with a hen. But giver her 7-10 days and then reevaluate your options.
Thanks for the encouragement Arielle!

We will keep trying, and give her a chance to heal. Hmmm, maybe we should hold her on her back on our lap when we are fixing it and hold it there for several minutes...

Very Cool! what did you use for the nipple part? or did you buy a nipple?
it was one I had bought. I am making some for my pens also. I just drilled a hole and screwed it in. There is a guy who makes some that screws onto the bottle. It must have some type of air bleeder made in it.

Hey guys...I am hatching away here just in time to clean out the bator for the easter hatch. I think I got my days wrong. I thought they should have hatched monday or tuesday, instead they started yesterday. I was beginning to get very worried as this is that new brinsea I posted a picture of. But it is looking good. Out of 16 eggs, I have 10 out and 2 more pipped. Have a couple of questions though...

This is a BBS Maran...That red spot on its head is not a picture flaw, it is actually there. Have you ever seen anything like that? It is really a auburn red color. Makes me curious and am going to send a pic to the breeder and see his thoughts.

Also this is my first time hatching buff brahmas. Anyone know if they can be color sexed? I have 2 that are colored very differently.

This prolapsed hen we rescued is SOOO frustrating! It doesn't look that bad, never more than an inch out at the most, she laid an egg yesterday and the day before without trouble. The prolapse goes back in pretty easily with very little help, but the problem is that she pushes it back out EVERY TIME SHE POOPS! I am not sure what else to do! Yes, this is only the third day after we started treating her, so maybe she will eventually learn to hold her innards IN on her own? I tried to wrap her up last night as suggested in this article, but it was a total failure. Didn't keep it in and a big mess to unwrap in the morning. Must not have wrapped it right, but I don't know how else to do it! I have resolved to give her a week at least before giving up. Praying for some results soon!

I tried the hemmorid cream idea on one last year and it seemed to help it shrink back quicker for me.
