Oh well. not going to be able to participate this year. We lost power Tuesday night and still don't have it back yet. The eggs that were supposed to hatch Thursday have been gradually hatching...delayed by the erratic low temperatures we have desperately been able to keep since the power went out. 7 have hatched so far out of 30 so no setting of new eggs until this ordeal is over with. I am so wanting these eggs to hatch well. They are non-standard dorking colors given to me by someone who was driving though (he doesn't ship eggs...too many unhappy customers) so they aren't easilly replacable.

still...very happy with the husband for having thought to stockpile enough gas to get us through this!!!!
I am in, but by circumstances not a conscious effort.
I just set 5 Welsummer eggs under our Blonde Banty.
She went broody last year and I gave her a baby chick to get her off the eggs after 30+ days.
They should hatch Good Friday or later.
Thank YOU ... gives me a reason to watch the thread!!! Well, aside from being voyeristic.I am so sorry! That totally sucks!! Your eggs arrived beautifully packaged and completely intact. Some detached air cells, but not a big deal. SOOO your chicks are in the Hatch-A-Long. The pic is on post #3529. Inadvertently you are a part of the hatch, LOL! Thank You!![]()
