on the Americana sign... a friend of mine works at TSC, and they have in the past had EE's (they list them as some spelling of Ameraruacana <G>) but so far this year haven't gotten any, she said people keep coming in asking them for American chickens (she said she wants to say they are ALL american chickens we don't import <G> just to be smart mouth <G>) I explained the EE thing... and told her I'd have some hatching soon if someone really want some.

Yeehaw!!! We got home from church and my husband calls me to the bator!!!! There was an egg pipped !!! And now just before I head to bed(soooo tired) the first one that pipped is zipping and another one (my only green egg) has pipped!!!! I can hear chirping awe!! I am glad I am sooo tired or I could never sleep!

Here is a picture of the chicks that hatched last week. 27 of the cute little jokers.had a 67% hatch rate. I guess its ok.

My "oh my goodness I can't wait to set these eggs until the hatch-a-long" eggs went in to lockdown this morning. 23 silkies and bantam orps, all homegrown.

Looks like my shipped eggs took the long way here

. So that means only the 28 for the hatch-a-long! Will get my pics up when I get them uploaded to the computer, hopefully today.

Demonic bunnies... Maybe better for Halloween?

I didn't try them yet, but the chick eggs turned out ok (other than a snowman-looking beak issue.)

Okay, I am having a hard time giving up on these Icelandic eggs. I candled a couple again tonight. Here's a video of my cracked egg that I put under my broody. Sorry, my hands always shake, and I'm turning the egg slowly so you can see more of the embryo inside. Does anyone think this egg looks good? Bad? Should that embryo be squirming around? I thought I saw it jump a little right at the end..........but I don't know. My eyes have been pretty strained lately.

It dosen't look right to me. It shouldn't easily float like in the video. Lets have others chime in, I don't think it's alive.
