Unrelated to the Easter hatch but I have to share a little excitement that the framework and floor joists are going into our coop right now! We did finally decide to go with the structure/barn that was/is already on the property when we moved here in November. Needs a lot of work but figured it will be worth it in the end. One side will be for chickens and the other for storage and turned into a workshop area. Yay!

I know I've said it twice now but I have the best hubby in the world.... I have a silver Ameraucana Rooster and wanted to start a Silver Ameraucana project but needed hens.... well... hubby just ok'd me getting 4 hens this weekend

I have an incubator tip for those of you new to incubating.  If you are incubating in Brinsea, you can ignore this information.  This is especially useful to those of you incubating in a styrofoam bator.

A week into incubation, you will want to keep close tabs on your temperature.  You may need to adjust it down some.  As the embryos develop, they start generating heat and thus your temperature may run a bit hotter.

Thanks for the tip. We are 8days in and my temp is staying steady but I can't believe how sensitive the bator is to the temp in the room it is located in. If I keep the room close to 68-70 it stays steady anything below or above that I'm on high alert! Right now it's cooler outside and the temp dropped some, my home thermostat is now set to 73 just to help raise and regulate some.

I set 14 eggs on the 9th. I took a pic, but won't be able to upload it until my computer is fixed. Do I need to? (sorry,I am a bit lost, as it is hard to navigate on my phone.) I want to participate more when I get my computer back.I don't want to be left out completely though, as I got these eggs just for this hatch a long.
