I HATE WHEN I THINK I'VE HIT THE QUOTE BUTTON TO RESPOND TO A POST AND IT DOESN'T COME UP. MAKES ME LOOK LIKE I'M MAKING RANDOM COMMENTS...

... which I sometimes do.

We're half way there folks!!!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE !!! hope you guys have a great Tuesday! It might be a double coffee day. We had some bad storms around us last night. Thank God it did not get that bad here. We got the edge of it. We got a little rain and it did get real windy for about 30 minutes. 30 miles above us they had strong winds up to 60 mph that blowed trees over and hail.

Deb, you can throw a few of those in with my Silver Campine eggs!! As a matter of fact, the CDM Turkey and Tutors Hatch is next.........hint, hint, hint.......:D I'm busy getting the spring breeder pens ready right now!
Just out of curiosity, how large do you make the breeder pens and runs? And how many do you put in to the lens? I'm NEW to the world of breeding chickens, well new to the world of chickens period really lol but I noticed that pen wasn't really large like and has me interested :)

Good morning to you too! We were hit with a LOT of rain and had some pretty bad flooding in our area. From what I gather though no major damage and no injuries. We were out in our yard though cutting larger drainage paths because with all the leaves and extra muck blocking the stream it was just going into the yard! We have some good plans for better drainage, his dad owns a construction company so that helps! Anyway I'm so glad you weren't hit with a lot of this weather, we didnt receive a lot of wind but. It was scary to look up at the clouds how fast they were moving and sometimes you could hear the strong wind too.

I'm afraid this is going to be a very disappointing hatch for me... Out of 13 of my own eggs I set, only two are developing. I promised the chicks to a friend to start her flock. She wants to surprise her little boy on Easter morning, so I really hope those two hatch.

Of the 12 eggs I got through the Easter swap, only two of the 8 silkies are developing and the only one of the four Seramas (which I was SO excited about) that was developing, now has a blood ring...

So out of 25 eggs, if all of the ones that are developing now hatch, my grand total will be 4... :(

Good Tuesday morning. Half way mark! All the eggs are doing great! I have never had a 100% hatch and I am so hopeful this will be my first!

I am tired of the snow. We had a few inches on top of the two feet. I did not even bother shoveling the paths, just the porch.

Keep up all the news on how eggs are doing!! Soon there is going to be thousands of new chicks running around!

Good Morning All!!

I'm sorry. I threw out 14 eggs yesterday too. I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

so sorry been out of town and haven't been able to check! my temp does go up when I turn my Turner on because of the heat from the motor. hope your doing fine!
And there you are....:weee
x2 Congrats Joyful Promise!!!!  :yiipchick
 OMGoodness! That happens? I just bought mine Saturday, and never even plugged it in yet. Eggs are sitting still right now because of detached air cells. In 2 days I planned on plugging in the turner, anything I should know??? And my temps are exactly 102 at the top of the eggs, I am so panicked that if it goes up one degree it's gonna cook  'em. I've always laid them on their sides and run at a lower temp. so I had the luxury of slight fluctuations. I am a nervous wreck over it! AND is the temp. gonna go up once once I do turn it on? Anyone with knowledge feel free to answer....

So, I started throwing out the clear eggs and one obvious blood ring....a total of about 6-7 eggs out of 51. There are some dark and porous barnevelders than I can't really see into. I do have one that is/was forming but I see a distinct one inch red horizontal line just under where I think the chick is....do you think this is a blood line or vein. It is quite visible.
