No pips in any of my eggs. Tonight was the start of day 22

And Icelandics usually come early.
Have you candled them? I'm sorry.

Now the hovabator is saying it is 100.1. I added another thermometer into the bator, so 3 thermometers are saying 99 and the hovabator says 100.1-100.0. SO, I'm not going to freak out lol Just hoping we can make it through Lock down without any problems. Lock down will be Sunday evening! :)

Actually, a question on lock down, I set them at 8:20pm, should I set them at or around this same time? Or would it be ok if I set them into lock down earlier that day?
Is it a still air hovabator? If so, you want the temp at 101.5 degrees. If it has a fan, you are good on your temp.

Except for candling, I do very well not touching the eggs/incubator. That is until lockdown. Then I am constantly hovering, panicking and fretting. I think we need a lockdown madness contest those days to keep me distracted lol

Anyone notice that the numbers when I listed the rules show up as 1? I edited and it looks normal in edit mode! I think Si is working behind the scenes! Everything is RULE NUMBER 1

I have a new style and an old style. The old style did not have adjustments on the top--It had rockers in the bottom. I do not incubate in the new style any more. I use it as a hatcher. The old style is my backup incubator for those times when I need to incubate more the 48 I can fit into the Octagon 40.

It seems that the new style is sensitive to Humidity level. If you let it drop below 20% it starts cranking up the temperature in the incubator. Oddly, it seems to encourage more fiddling than the old style. I wonder if they had a less then optimal batch of electronic components recently?

Try keeping the humidity closer to 30%.

My humidity rose to above 70% this morning after locking down with a couple water channels filled. Is that too high? I let some of it out by quick tipping up the cover so as to just let out the vapors and not the heat. Temp has been a stead 99.5 on top of the eggs the whole incubation and still is. I opened all the vent ports, but the humidity is still kinda high. Experienced hatchers, should I be concerned about humidity registering 70% on my hygrometer?

Absolutely not. Its respectable and will go higher with the first chick cracking open its egg and acting like a damp sponge.

The vents should all be open - so thats a good thing.

At 99.5 on top of the eggs, I presume you have a fan forced incubator.

Yes I have a Farm Innovators bator with a fan and turner. Mom got me the deluxe model for Christmas. Figured for my first go round and with my busy work schedule, it was better to have one that was a little more set-it and forget-it. I had only one clear egg and all the rest have been developing nicely. I was worried about them every step of the way. My husband calls my process "a laboratory controlled environment" because I have been so meticulous about everything including making sure the temp and humidity stay constant and reading way too many websites, forums and books about incubation and hatching. The first round are all wiggling away in their eggs in the bator since lockdown. I'm so excited for the first pip. I'm hoping it will happen sometime Sunday while I'm home for the whole day.
