Thanks for all the info and concern. Turns out the egg is a dud anyways. I guess the momma goose had rolled it out of nest. Her others have hatched. So I candled to see and it has a blood ring:( so its trashed. But in another note a gave a wellsummer rooster I hatched on NYD hatch a long to a guy that wanted for his granddaughter. She has a young pullet about same age. She was excited. I was going to sell it to him but after he told me it was for her and see her light up seeing him. I told him I know you will take good care of him. So just take him home. :) Make me feel good to know I made her day.
Oh how sweet! I love hearing stories like this! You are amazing

I think the rooster fairy came to visit. :-/ I split my Easter hatch with a friend, and we've both noticed approximately 75% cockerels.

Gotta love them odds. Lol

I hatched a bunch of boys as well. Not sure how many, they don't hold still long enough for me to count them! Last year was the year of the cockerel, this is supposed to be the year of the pullet.

I put the Speckled Sussex chicks into their own brooder bin, so the Orps and the flock hatchling have more space in theirs. I have a third bin ready for the CdM pouts and tutor chicks. (lockdown is today, no tomorrow! Even though one tutor has already hatched, which was a surprise. I put it under Punkin with her 3 chicks in the dog bed. She took her three outside but newest chick couldn't keep up, so it is under the EcoGlow for the day.)

With this warm spell we've been having, mine have been off of any heat since last Friday. They are just dandy at night even. They snuggle together, but no peeping. We are mid 80's during the day, mid to low 50's at night.

Should I be able to tell if an Amercauna is a pullet or a cockrel by now or would it be too soon since Easter Hatch? They are about 5 weeks old or so now. If I posted pictures would anyone be able to tell me what they are? What would help the most...close up of the comb or tail or just the entire chick?

I can try, but I bet you'll get more help. Besides, chick pics are always welcome.

Thanks! Gosh. With each day that goes by I am more and more worried the majority are cockerels!
I think I have WAAAY more boys than girls too. I guess I'll be finding out how EEs, turkens and sussex taste.
Join the club...!

You might be able to tell... Here are a few pics of my female EE as a chick last year...:
