First two! From olive eggs and look to be yellow like their mom was when she started. So, is white a dominate color? The roos are silver, black, blue, or red.

OK so they are not chick pics. I just finally got some really decent pics of some of my adult birds. Thought I would share..

What is the mom? I hatched some solid yellow Olive Eggers in my last hatch. They turned out to be splash. Dad is a Blue Ameraucana, and mom is a Blue Copper Marans. They're pretty!

Congrats on your hatchlings!

RSL babies! Day 20 and two little ones are already out with about 9 more pipping (out of 25)!!! My first go in the hoverbator! I call it hoverbator because I've
been hovering over it all morning :p

It seems like everyone else is hatchtarded today as well so I'm glad I'm not alone!

now I don't have to say 'I have been watching my farmer innovator bator all day' all I have to day now is that 'im at my hoverbator'

I guess that's why they named their incubators the hoverbators

SOOOOOO............if everyone set on Saturday, are 19 day old chicks haching now? or are there early setters here?

CONGRATS EVERYONE!

your all making me so excited for marshie's very first hatch!

you will have to break pcs of the shell off him and then yes, use warm wet papertowel and get him all cleaned up, if he needs it you can run warm water and gently wash him with dawn dish soap, do NOT get in his NARES! (nostrils) its the quickest way to get them clean, keep them warm and then dry off with a papertowl or clean washrag and put him back in the bator to fluf up.
I call that a do over!

There is a dominant white and recessive white in chickens.

Hugs. That has to suck.
I will check more. Im sure that stuff is not pure o2 its commercial they get sued for exploding 16 year olds. Any articles to recomend? And ty!

Not as a hatcher.. As a nurse... The O2 is really dry.... We would even humidify it for patients. May help to check that before setting eggs

I set a day early on some (Friday) and some on Saturday. So far have had 2 of the 4 that were left to hatch early, but wondering if maybe it was because their eggs were small compared to the others. I have one more that is definitely alive, but not sure when it will hatch, assuming sometime between now and Sunday.

There is chirping coming from the bator! This hatch is taking forever! I swear when I used to hatch in my hoverbator, I always had pips on days 19 and 20, but not anymore. The Brinsea is always right on time. Everyone hatches on day 21. I guess it probably does say something about the accuracy of the thermometer, and probably means it doesn't have warm and cool spots, but still. I'd love some early birds!

So I have a new chicken issue unrelated to the hatch-a-long. My Jaerhon, Dottie, has started laying an egg every evening right from the perch where she sleeps. Every day I go to lock up the birds, and there's Dottie on her perch, and on the coop floor, 5 feet underneath her is her egg...every...single...day. What gives?? Anyone ever have a chicken dropping eggs from their sleeping perch?
