I set mine really late Friday night (like 12hrs before we were supposed to) so mine are all just early hatchers. I have 4 chicks out and 3 externally pipped. If those 3 make it I will have a total of 7 new babies! YAY! Now if only I could figure out what they are...

PM me and I can try and help you with the gender and breed (if you don't know)

ARGHHHHH

Do something, eggs! This just sitting there, being egglike, is driving me batty. It doesn't help that the birds and cicadas outside chirp and peep and thrum. Tricky little beasties! I was sitting there, staring obsessively at the eggs, when I heard one, distinct, loud chirp. The humidity was suddenly 10 % higher. I thought "oooo, here we go!" Nada. Little fakers. I don't care if they aren't due yet, they could chirp or wiggle or something.

I did have a power outage this morning, but it was only for a few minutes, so I don't believe it affected them.

Come on, chickies! You can do it!

Thanks - I believe mom to be my white EE with green legs. She was molting my first batch of eggs, and when she was done suddenly I had olive eggs, one a day. One of the yellow chicks has some black feathering - oh I hope a splash! Can't wait to see until they fluff up. And to see my other eggs!

I love solid white EEs! I had a reddish brown EE hen that used to lay eggs that nearly always hatched solid white EEs. I have no idea what the genetics are that created this. I'm assuming it's some sort of recessive white gene she and my roo were carrying. The genetics get complicated with EEs since they're mutts. But whatever it was, her babies were just beautiful, green legs and bright blue earlobes. I lost her and all my white EEs to a fox...so sad.

Heart broken I used a pro series incubator that has the fan and egg turner in it and before lock down and taking them out of the turner to lie flat I decided to candle them real quick only to find a bunch of half developed chicks some look farther than others some were to full to tell so I left them all in the incubator but does anyone knw what may have caused this

LOL and awesome! are they surprise eggs?
yes they are! I had 1 olive colored egg, 1 blue egg, 3 creamy colored eggs and 2 off white eggs. My husband randomly brought them home the day before we officially set for the hatch-a-long...perfect timing! My hubby owns a hardwood flooring business and he saw them when he went to a house they were working on. He told the lady that I was a teacher and hatch in my classroom every year. She gave him a dozen eggs and then even grabbed a dozen from the fridge and told him to try to get those to hatch too! lol I ended up with 7 at lockdown. Because I wasn't there, I didn't see the parents and my hubby never asked. The chicks that have hatched are mostly a light black with a yellow tummy and tush. They all have a little line of feathers down their feet. one of the chicks is mostly yellow with a little grey on her back. She doesn't have feathers on her feet. I saw a really small picture of the flock and I can only make out black chickens with poofy white heard (a polish maybe?)

BTW, Thanks so much for the advice earlier! It was my only blue egg left that was stuck and I was able to get him out and clean him up. He seems a little more tired than usual but that could be cause he was glued for several hours! Hopefully he'll take a nap and be just fine!

:ya:weee I candled my olive f2 and amerucauna f1 olive eggs . 6 are fertile and developing . Best yet is a cuckoo Marans rooster over them . That makes the chicks all barred!!!!
