The chick was actually a surprise, when it hatched I thought it would be a Faverolle but it was an Australorp.

Don't judge an egg by its shell I guess... But I am happy either way.

HAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE IT!!! I love broody pictures! One of my chicks just hatched yesterday. I of course helped it out of its shell... The poor thing was shrink wrapped. Under a broody in this muggy weather!? How does shrink wrapping happen? Anyway, I think its a ancona marans mixed, or a Barred rock marans mix or its a marans mix with either one of thoses... It looks like daddy when he was a chick! Just no fluffy feet!

I love it! How cute! I keep hoping for a broody but since I broke my BO from brooding in January nobody wants to help me out now! Guess I'll just keep the incubators going nonstop!
