I haven't been on much the past couple days & just skipped a TON of posts (Ron, your Daily Digests are a lifesaver!), but my babies finally have their runs up & finished enough to enjoy the sunshine!!! It's been over 2 months since they have been able to get outside at all. Hoping this will get everyone laying finally...plus it should help my electric bill since I won't have to run lights constantly for them now.

So I am skipping over my orpingtons and rocks and all my pure bred lovelies so I can take a whack at hatching my RSLs new eggs.
I have been getting 2 eggs a day on average.
I asked my husband how many eggs I should collect each day for setting for the hatch a long.
He said "all of them from now until then."
Perhaps he doesn't understand how this works. I have around 150 chicks coming on Friday. We do not live on a farm. I don't think I want to set that many.

How many should I set and when should I collect? Any opinions appreciated. I'm terrible at estimating these things. I always end up hatching wayyy too many and while I love babies, I hate having to feed everyone :P
I think you should set 41, that would be just enough for me to win the contest of guessing total eggs set.

I have a couple

They move into the hatcher on the 20th. the next big set will be the 21st but I should have room for another few hundred

I will be setting goose turkey chukar chicken and quail for the hatch-along
You have a rainbow of eggs too Oz. How do you possibly get all of them to the Philippines without damage?

Good Morning, checking in early from the West coast. Hope you all have a wonderful day and your flocks are happy, healthy, and plentiful. I will check back when the coffee has had a chance to kick in.

Good Morning All. Just popping in to catch up on the 8 pages I was behind. Hope you all have a great day. I will be back again this afternoon.

Oh and

HAPPY ST. PATTYS DAY!

I don't know when I'm NOT incubating something lol. right now i have bredas, welsh harlequin ducks, barnyard mix, cochin, coturnix quail, and Norwegian Jaerhons incubating, silver lakenvelders in lockdown, and I just hatched a lone birchen modern game bantam yesterday.
(oh and if I don't have any chicken eggs incubating there is always snake eggs or crested gecko eggs in the incubator lol)

heres the little MGB- he pipped out the wrong end but did fine just took a little longer than normal.
