You can still be in the hatchalong. We had to choose cut off dates to make the Guessing contests fair. So your eggs won't be counted in the total, but that doesn't mean you can't be with us. Please stick around.

What kind of eggs did you set? Ducks, chickens?

Well, I'm scraping the bottom of my bin for chicken food. Time to go to the Mill and fill up that garbage can. What a great price when you can buy a good healthy food for your chickens, for half the amount of what you would get at a store. It's like getting a free bag there. Love this place in town.

Your broody's daddio looks like a dark version of my rooster Eddie. He's from a WL hen and a GLW roo.


Okay, not exact, but it looks like your roo might have some GLW in him.

They do look alike! Your boy is very pretty. My guy Ray sadly died last spring. he was 10+ and because of the American Game, he eagerly took on all who he perceived to be a threat. He did battle with feral peacocks on a daily basis and kept them out of the chicken feeders. I miss him.

Good morning/afternoon everyone. Working 2nd shift kicks my butt on what time of day it is. Anywoo, this is what I have going on today. Two of my hens are trying to go broody, which would be awesome, except I think with this freaky weather it is just not a good idea, plus apparently they believe we only have one nest box.

Yesterday was a great day! None of my current girls are so far complying with project build a broody...but I got a broody anyway! She is a silkie and is already setting...go figure

She is on day 10 or 11 but she needs a new home. I told her current owner that I would take her and her brood. She is keeping her through her hatch then I will go get her on my first free weekend after. I still hope one of my current girls still gets the idea in her head to hatch a batch o chicks in time for me to keep playing here but if she doesn't...I will still have a silkie and I will have chicks. Liife is Gooooooooood
