Ok, I have 2 really random questions. First off, (and I know there may be several answers to this, but I need it anyway as there's a certain breed I'm trying to rule out which I won't mention just yet) what would you say is the world's hardiest breed of chicken?

IDK enough to answer the first question. The hardy breeds that I have are Orpington, Leghorn, and gold Comets (which aren't a breed, they're a sex link).

I like bantams, but DH likes large eggs, ergo; large fowl chickens. (except for the one bantam we have on accident). :-\

Ok so I want you good peoples opinion on something. I'm thinking of trying to order some eggs from Dick Horstman for the hatch-a-long. I'm not sure if they're available but if you had to choose between White Araucana Bantams and Silver Laced Polish Bantams which would you order? They both look awesome and if I had the money I'd by a dozen of both but alas...

I so wanted to hatch in the Easter hatch a long, but something got into my coop and got 7 of my chickens only leaving me with 3 boys & 3 girls, they're all beat up pretty bad. So I took all the eggs that were in the coop and put them in the incubator. I hope I can get some out of them. They were out in the cold, so we'll see. Good Luck Everyone!!!

do I order eggs? how far in advance should I start looking eggs. im new to this .. I really would enjoy d uccles or jap bantam. or silikie .. or a good layer

Yep, reserve them now. Ask for them to be shipped on the 25th so you have them in time to set. (assuming chicken eggs)

I just remembered, we are going on vacation in April so I shouldn't get more birds, especially chicks. This rules out the hatch-A-Long for me...

Easter is really late this year, April 20th. When are you going on vacation?
