Quote: Yes, I sell Welsummers and Barnevelders.

I'm going to be hatching Welsummers and Barnevelders of course! And some Icelandics, Cream Legbars (iffy on whether they are fertile) and maybe a couple of Marans.

I'm most excited to get some offspring from my Barnevelder cock bird!

gorgeous!!!! thanks so much for making me want some now!!! absolutely perfect!

I'm trying to get my "eggs in a row" before next Saturday's set date. Will be my first time incubating ~ SO excited!! Anyway - I'm wondering what everyone uses for a candler? Any good LED flashlight recommendations??
I just purchased a 3000 lums and I can finally say I can see in my CCL eggs!!!

But you need to get the rechargeable batteries, BEST investment I made yet!

Bantambury:

Lol lucky you! Would love to find some more of these guys locally. Never delt with shipped eggs before.

hahah! and funny thing was, my breeder was trying to keep his japs away from the public! LOL I got 4 eggs mistaken from a silkie....fooled me too not seeing feathery black feet! LOL I have gotten a total of 4 jap eggs and EVERY SINGLE ONE HAS HATCHED! oh what luck!

where did you get your japs before?

Well if you can believe it.... At a local auction.. Fell in love instantly.. So tiny yet majestic! Our kids fell in love too. Sad that we only have the one now..

rolling end to end? how big are the air cells in size? are the eggs a bit too old by air cell size? I am not knowing call duck air cells, but I am sure you guys would know fresh from old.

I was actually thinking along those lines...The air space seems largish, (quarter size...) for supposedly fresh eggs....but I'm not really familiar with calls either. The last batch from a different breeder looked the same.

I candled...not sure what you call it but fluid in the aircells (ruptured). Not rolling, but I do think a few will be saddle's. 2 out of 11 looked great... I pulled out the automatic turner, which I swore I wouldn't do anymore, only because I like to hand turn. Looks like I have no choice. Thank God I have a few from my own girl!

Sounds like mine....I will follow the advice about letting them sit upright for days and only rocking them a little until they are more stable at about two weeks and then hand turning three times a day....

Did yours seem to have larger than normal air cells?

I'd be very interested to know how yours progress. Good luck with them.
