you are doing rare breeds, you need some thought on this if its feasible to purchase something that will auto turn instead of semi auto have at it for sure. hatch rates are effected with turning big time as we are all awareI did just look up some auto turners and your right they are not cheap. I will have to weigh my options but I do think the effectiveness in the long run will outweigh the cost of them. Im not sure yet, but the thought is nice.
And no you don't need to go through the trouble of showing me how it fits, unless of course you want to lol. My cooler has already arrived(the exact one as yours) and I have an auto turner here(with eggs in it lol). But if I decide to go the route of using the auto turners I may need you to walk me through the electrical part of it so I don't blow a fuse or something lol.

It seems to me (who doesn't even yet understand humidity) that there are so many variables in incubating that are subject to human error, that a blanket statement of a malposition being from an unhealthy embryo can't be completely right. We do try our best to mimic mother nature but I'm sure most of us fall short of the mark. As little as I understand humidity, I do know that if I run terribly high humidity I will end up with a big fat wet chick that won't be able to get into the proper position for hatch, and most likely be a malposition. That would be my fault, and nothing to do with genetics. Shipped eggs with saddle cells would be another scenario, those poor babies can get so vacuumed in there that it's nearly impossible for them to turn into the correct positions for hatch. There are more but I just haven't had enough coffee yet, lol! IDK...my daily ramblings....![]()
ya I just bought a brinsea spot check as well. i heard glowing reviews and basically heard it was a "must have" then the day after I bought it I start hearing about these temp issues. yikes! I hope there is an easy solution to why they are reading so highNOOOOOOOOO OMG you guys are killing me!!!
SOMEONE quick tell me they love it please please please tellllllll me NOW!!
I took the rail out of the turner and wound up soaking in in water with dish soap. One of my daughters kept telling me to just yank it out!I hate leakers sticking in turners.
If I had a stinker, I'd probably pull all the other eggs and take the turner out to the compost pile to extricate.
I just got my Spot Check yesterday and I think it's waaay off. Unless my temperature is 106!?! Going to call Brinsea today to see about returning/exchanging it.![]()
