I was able to get photos today of the African grey eggs and the cockatoo eggs:) Didn't get my face ripped off either.

African grey eggs. They ended up laying 4, but one is in the incubator with repaired cracks...

Goffins Cockatoos. These clowns don't trust me with their eggs AT ALL !

Our power went out at 4 this morning! The incubators got down to about 82 F before we got the generator going. I hope they'll be okay. They had plenty of issues to deal with in the first place....shipped eggs, cracked eggs, damaged air cells....
I put ziplock bags of hot water all around them with heavy towels on top. Probably didn't bring the temp up but may have kept them from losing more heat.

Love this. I used to raise parakeets & hand-rear. This may be sacrilege, but they were more fun than the chickens. Chickens can't come in the house, and the thought of one nibbling on my ear gives me chills, LOL.

Fighting the urge to go candle the eggs and see if anything is percolating.

I had to! Day 3, and when I turned this afternoon I did a quick peek. I counted 34 with veins, 2 didn't look good, but who knows, and the rest I couldn't seen into, but I wasn't moving them to my completely dark bathroom to see. But I have 43 in there, and 34 is a lot! My 2nd hatch, so I'm super excited. Grow babies, grow!

Some observations: 1)Poor chicks! 2) Chicks hatch on day 19? 3) Hatching only takes 4-6 hours?? 4) No wonder they're all stressed out by the time they get to us! 5) I don't think I'll buy hatchery chicks ever again.
