I set on Friday, checked for veining today while I was in there filling water, looks like majority are nicely veined already. :) Even my poor smashed and shaken shipped eggs show at least 6 of 12 developing (hard to see well in those thick blue eggs), which is more than I thought would from the ride they took. Home grown eggs all look good so far.

Its been a few days since I've been on BYC because I've been really sick. Hows everything going?

What if it does and I'm here when it happens?

They will often bleed out or sometimes drown. There is not much you can do but read the guide to assisted hatching. The internal pip is very early with ducks and they will go up to three days after external pipping before they hatch. That is much too early to take them out of the shell.

If you see liquid in the pip, you have to clear it as best you can. That is one reason why eggs with air cells like that are more work.
