Mike - add me to the participants list. I counted out the weeks and my meaties should be in the freezer in time. If not, I'll secretly brood them for a week in the well house. (shhhhhh, I've been kicked out of all buildings due to chick dust)

You've been there since the beginning.

Talk to Sally about Serama eggs (possibly) or BHep. I had Seramas, but decided to part ways with bantams for LF. I miss them though

I agree..Henipede!

Ummm.... I'm 38 and I still want to be Strawberry Shortcake. I live vicariously through my 4 year old. I buy her all of the SS toys, and she could care less BUT I still get to walk by and pick up a doll and smell that wonderful hair. Takes me right back to being a kid again. I do the same thing with Cabbage Patch Dolls.

Yeah, I had a thing for Cabbage Patch Kids when I was a kid. I had three of them. =D
I miss them and I wished I'd had them when my girls were little. =(
Oh, well, I got really babies, so it was alright. =)
Yeah, I like the idea of buying SS toys and smelling the hair.... I mean for my granddaughters, for when I have them.....I mean when I have them.

I am more excited about your hatch than my own.

You should set up a hatch cam for it!
No worries, it happens to the best of us.

I saw there was 116 posts while I was writing my paper today!!!
ep.gif

I read the first page (74), but I can't read 116 posts, especially since the number grows faster than a chick!!! lol

I finished my paper today. Well, I turned in the draft they want. I'll have to edit it according to my instructor's comments, but the hard work is over.

But you have to read them! How else will you get to see othello the Dark Brahma?????

Add some paper towels or a sponge and let it stick out of the water that will give you more surface area without increasing the size of the container.
You're too smart; I'm glad you're on our side. lol

The secret to humidity is surface area of the water. You can have a gallon of water with a 1" surface area of water and say only get 30% humidity but have a cup of water with 5 " of surface area and get 60% humidity. It is all about the surface area for evaporation. As far as temp goes another hole might do the trick ( You can always tape up holes not needed to control heat and humidity) or a small fan like a computer far could do the trick if you do not have one in there already.

Edited to add: Another option is using a lower wattage bulb or smaller bulb, not sure if they make one smaller than 25 watts.

My bulb is 15w =)
But it's got to be incandescent. (Wow!!! I can't believe I spelled that right the first time!!!)
ep.gif

Anyway, there are all kinds of laws going into effect already, now, soon, IDK about not manufacturing anymore incandescent bulbs in certain wattages and/or selling them, etc. IDK, but get what you can while you can, right?

The leading man or woman of a story. But serriously, couldn't you see a Dark Brahma roo named Othello?

I'm trying not to name my chickens anymore (I've been wrong or been told wrong about gender too many times and I'm hoping to have too many to name. lol)
I like the name Othello, but I wouldn't want to name any of my animals after him, not after studying the play. I'd feel like I was naming him something like Oedipus.
