I went to get this pic and there is another pip as you can see closer to the cell at the fat end. But the one I was concerned with is the one closest to the middle
Oh, that first pip is right in the middle. The chick is turning now. Interesting that it pipped somewhere else. I personally haven't had that happen in all the years that I've hatched! It's pipped in the right end now. Can you see anything moving in that spot? What color is the membrane? And your humidity is up too high..if..your hydrometer is reading right. It doesn't look like you have any condensation on the windows, that's a good thing. I would say watch that little one if you can off and on tonight. Hopefully it will start zipping now that it's in the right area! If not, and things are the same by morning, you may need to help it out. Have you done that before? If not, go to one of Sally's posts, she has a signature in the bottom of her posts that shows how to help..it's great.

I got it..here it is..I personally, would start helping it if it has a dried look to the membrane. A real yellowish look. If it is moving in there, and it stays in the same ares, give it a bit more time to absorb more blood and yolk. Hopefully, if you help it, it will have already absorbed. How long has it been pipped, since the first pip place?

This is my first hatch, which is why its so small.
I cant see it moving at the pip right now but that egg has been rocking around in there since last night and still doing it.
The membrane is white/opaque.
My hygrometer is off a little but I did the salt test thing to calibrate it and at 75% it reads 73% so i got that part down. How would I get the humidity down with them in lock down?
Ive never helped before cause this is my first, which is why its kinda freaking me out. I can see blood vessels at the first pip though. No bleeding so I'm guessing it didnt puncture any.

OK one more, I am going to bed.

Compilation of some images from tonight...

Very cool! Good night. :)

Did you do that??? Very cool! I started seeing it at about the second photo.

When mine is too high, I lift the lid real quick. Just one side. Then, the hydrometer should change. Sometimes they get stuck, like my cheap ones, but I've done this long enough, that I can put my hand over the holes in the bator and feel if it is humid enough. Not for everyone to do.
Do you have plugs? Take them out if you do..and they are in. That will help a lot.

I dont have plugs but I do have home made windows in it that I could puncture a bit to make more air holes. What should my humidity be at this point?

I have a Styrofoam. I have mostly still airs, and one with a fan. During lock down with either, I have my humidity around 57 to 62. Works great. Up to 65 is ok too.

Mine is a styrofoam still air. i poked some holes in the window area so maybe that will stabilize it a bit. And tape in hand if the holes are too much.
