well so far out of 2 pips I have 2 on the wrong end. Still waiting on the rest to pip. Makes me nervous cause its my first hatch. Nerve racking roo say the least.

How were the cells at lock down?

Are they shipped eggs?

When did you start turning?

Don't jump in an assist until you are sure.

Normal sized and shaped and on the fat end
No they are my own flocks.
Its just 2 days worth of eggs. I was told to let them sit over night after collecting then turn them once a day until in the incubator which happened on day 3 after collecting the first one and after that 3 or 5 times per day depending on length of time we were home but always at least 3. And I'm not assisting at this point because beaks are out and moving.

And BTW 3 pips 3 wrong end but all beak out and breathing now.
And since I got the link for Sally's assist page I've read it 3 times so I knew I didn't skip anything because I tend to scan instead of reading.

How can one watch carefully for low pips after lockdown though? You mean if we see some how a low external pip? If so we should?
Just look at the eggs from various angles, also look for pieces of shell. Personally, I don't ever assist, but some do. If you get to that point of having a low pip ask about it here, be patient before assisting if you choose to go that route. Watch what others are currently doing with their low pips. Also read Sally Sunshine's guide to assisting hatches. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching

you are a model hatcher!!!

they will probably be fine

hang in there

Someone had asked what the directions are for humidity for the incubator from hell. I thought I would share them. You know, just add water every one or two days! -smh- LOL

If I recall correctly, the Singing Incubator from Hell has a smooth plastic slippery floor. In my similar incubator I cut a piece of non-adhesive shelf liner for the floor. This helps prevent the chicks from developing legg issues.
