Quote: I lock mine down as normal unless I see draw down occurring early, day 17 is fine as long as weight loss is where you need it. if you have a hatcher move them yes.

Quote: My thoughts, If you have added the extra boost of humidity where is the risk? There is great benefit for duck and turkey, I have never added humidity until I see internals on them. With chickens there is no better indication of hatch, since temp and humidity variations between hatchers effect this timing more than anything. Again, I see no risk opening if you add an extra boost to humidity, and at that stage in the game just a tad high for a few minutes isnt going to effect them.
Envisions the movie day after tomorrow, when the freeze comes in and everyone is panicking...seriously I wouldnt suggest if I didnt practice it.![]()
I know and it makes for cleaning the bators ALOT easier right! all those little egg shell pcs are easy clean up!![]()
Love this stuff, for lock down, and for the brooder for a couple of days. I get mine at the dollar store.
Dropping the egg being candled, Mommy and Daddy telling little Mikey not to touch eggs in the incubator, Mikey sees Mommy and Daddy do it, Mikey starts doing it on his own, a lot. Missing something pipped or zipping and it ends up shrink wrapped. My thoughts, If you have added the extra boost of humidity where is the risk?
