yesterday was day 21 with chicken eggs.

no pips.

destructive test was done on 4 of 30 eggs since I had difficulty understanding what I was seeing on the day 7 candle.

one of the four had a developing live chick.

went back and reread "Hatching 101"

question: What would be your next step in determining why the eggs go to day 23-25 to develop and hatch?
99 percent of the time its low temps during incubation

[/IMG]don't know which roo to use for hatchalong?

thats what I do

start muscovies, add guineas, add chukar, add chooks, add quail

come easter saturday it will be total madness

now if i could just get some regular duck eggs.....

I have blue & black Anconas laying. You could help preserve this rare breed in the Philipines! They are a decent meat size & lay well but are not huge like the pekin. They eat much less than pekins too.

Hello everyone..I guess i am joining all the fun again this year..

This year i will have eggs available to people who need them for the hatch along too..

What kind???

Hey you hatch-a-holics, I have way more eggs than I can hatch so if any of y'all need some, let me know.

Whatcha got???

Good Morning Everyone. Starting my day off with some coffee on this cold cold morning then I am off to fill my incubator. I decided on doing some fertility checks and have been collecting eggs for a week.

I have 7 sexlink eggs in the incubator already on day 6 and today I plan to add 20-24 Olive eggs(various shades of greens and Olives the hens covered by BCM roos) and also I will be setting my first 7 Cream Legbar eggs from my own trio, so excited

Hmm I just recently found out some one very local to me sells ostrich and emu chicks and fertile hatching eggs. That is sooo neat. I could never raise one here where I live but cool to know there is a farm around the corner that does.

@SilkieSensation most of mine are mixes. Barred rock roo over barred rock, rir, lt.brahma, OE, RSL and a hen of unknown origin. I also may have Silkie eggs if I can keep them all from going broody (uphill battle), BLRW, and Lavs AMs. Oh and FBCM, I forgot they just started laying.

Would love any of the pures, especially silkies. Need to get my silkie flock built back up again. Had to get rid of everything I was growing out during my moves this winter.
