Inverted is important to know about as a breeder, wish I would have known all about it before I ran into it now I have devastated puppy parents not a great day for us. Now I know why people dont do what I do with puppy parents following along the journey, its heartbreaking this day :(

you have to clean and watch the area, sorta like a babys butt until after first heat, then it says with the heat and the bigger area it pushes it out, sometimes two heats, but most waith 4 weeks after first heat and Puberty is over to spay and if its still an issue to do a TUCK surgery along with spay. I priced today $500-600 for spay and tuck, they decided they still want the puppy but I wont offer the health guarantee and we will be voiding the contract and we will lower the price, what to lower it to is an issue as I dont know how much to lower it. Hubs said lower the cost of the tuck, but I got a spay tuck price, I guess I should call back tomorrow but I hate bothering the vet all the time! My hubs was looking forward to keeping her, but I just cant we have just lost the old dalmatain and I am still heartbroken......
This is the little sweetie pie in question......

That is terrible, and a lot to take in. I'm happy the couple still wants her though. You're a busy lady and that sounds like it's gonna take up someone's time for quite a while. I think the price of the tuck sounds fair, too. WHY CAN'T THEY ALL JUST COME OUT PERFECTO???

Hello everyone..I guess i am joining all the fun again this year..

This year i will have eggs available to people who need them for the hatch along too..

Hey you hatch-a-holics, I have way more eggs than I can hatch so if any of y'all need some, let me know.

The kindness of chicken folks never ceases to amaze me. A hatch-a-long going on, and people stepping up everywhere offering up their eggs. I just sent out eggs 2 days ago for a classroom hatch...I'm so excited to watch the progress.
yesterday was day 21 with chicken eggs.

no pips.

destructive test was done on 4 of 30 eggs since I had difficulty understanding what I was seeing on the day 7 candle.

one of the four had a developing live chick.

went back and reread "Hatching 101"

question: What would be your next step in determining why the eggs go to day 23-25 to develop and hatch?
Low temps, refrigerated eggs, or old eggs...but more than likely the temps.

I'm just partial to the crele...I'd use him!

EMU FACTS:

The mating call of the emu can be heard up to 1.2 miles away!

OMG!!! My neighbors would have my head on a platter! <insert image of neighbors having the best Easter Dinner feast ever>

Are they like chickens and the male does all this noise?

I am in York. Looking for some hatching eggs for the hatch a long. My few old girls aren't laying much at all. Last year almost none of them were fertile. Can anyone help?

I ordered Rhodebar eggs for the hatchalong, so I will have a limited amount of my own eggs available as well, but they are all barnyard mixes. The 21/25 I just hatched last weekend are the most amazing mix of colors! I will post a photo tomorrow. My new babies are going to my neighbor in a few weeks...and I am very jealous of all the beauties she will have.

At least I get to see them grow up!

Quote: I have blue & black Anconas laying. You could help preserve this rare breed in the Philipines! They are a decent meat size & lay well but are not huge like the pekin. They eat much less than pekins too.

Good Morning Everyone. Starting my day off with some coffee on this cold cold morning then I am off to fill my incubator. I decided on doing some fertility checks and have been collecting eggs for a week.

I have 7 sexlink eggs in the incubator already on day 6 and today I plan to add 20-24 Olive eggs(various shades of greens and Olives the hens covered by BCM roos) and also I will be setting my first 7 Cream Legbar eggs from my own trio, so excited

AWESOME YOU CAME!!!! COOL BEANS!

Picked up a 10 piece nugget meal (broilers) at TSC yesterday...yummy!

Also stuffed a dozen call duck eggs under a broody chicken last night. The hens do a better job hatching them than I do.
HA!! Go Girl!

I am so sorry, I so was hoping to hop on and see your chickies, there is a break out analysis link to images and info on the hatching 101 article at the end in the What Went Wrong Section. Have you calibrated thermo and hygros, even a .5 degree variance on the LOW end can change your hatch success, its better to run .5-1 degree higher than lower.

Variables that are important are correct temps for still air and correct temps if its a fan model, CALIBRATION IS MAJORLY important never ever go with the guage that comes with your bator without CALIBRATION (see temp section in article)

Ventilation is important (NEVER USE PLUGS TO HELP WITH HUMIDITY, EVER)

turning is important and

HUMIDITY is NOT a number, its only used as a TOOL to get the correct weight loss NEVER EVER a number. I cant tell you how many people tell me "but I had it at 30% or even 55%" my response will be.... did you weigh your eggs to follow the amount of weight loss needed for embryo growth and health? If you havent dont this have you watched air cells and adjusted as you candle? Weighing eggs could save ALOT of grief to new hatchers, it helps them begin to visualize how much weight loss via marking air cells. I wish I would have known all this, would have save a ton of chicks :( at the bottom of this post I will include some weighing egg info. As I havent gone into much detail on the article YET <wink>

You are at this part.....
