What I set will depend upon who goes broody. My tried and true Australorp will get Mottled Java eggs super excited because I have wanted these for over two years!

No one else has ever set before ( I was able to break the flower pot setter by putting an upside down bowl in her "nest") so they will get homegrown...either project Silkied D'Uccle or Hybrid; Del over California Grey. I am hoping the hybrid makes a sex link. I have only hatched one before and it was a cockerel. Jet Black with a white head spot. Want to see what the girls look like.

Tonight that cockerel is whats for dinner. I am braising him in cranberry wine sauce.

I wanna join, but I'm gonna have to set my eggs on the 27th. Want to be sure that some hatch so that I can sell them as Easter Chicks.

I have a hatching problem, I admit it. But this is one where I can join in and use the "But these are Birthday Chickens!" excuse as my birthday will be shortly after the hatch date. No one can stop me now!

Haven't decided if I'll hatch some EEs from my birds for fun or find some nice Maran or Dorking eggs I've been wanting to try. Guess I better get on it :)

Hi Cackle Joy! It's all in the original post. There is a link to each contest thread and once you get there, there are directions re how to enter. Have fun!

No broody yet

but I am hopeful. A bird that goes broody in November, in a Flower Pot, in the middle of a rainstorm should look around at our current 70+ highs and decide to give it another go shouldn't she??
this is cute, My dad always had hens in his bass boat he used to get so mad at them!! under the dash and when he charged the batteries there would be hens down in there too!!

X2 great pictures!
thank you!

Those are beautiful! What made them?

@Sally Sunshine @tommysgirl
the bottom tan eggs are lain by my beautiful splash girl, marshie:

from her VERY FIRST egg LAIN THE SET DAY OF THE NEW YEAR HATCH A LONG (I managed to pop it in last minute

) I got a jappie, an silkie X Japanese Bantam. he is developing a gorgeous Japanese tail with beautiful sickles still growing:

The greenish egg was lain by my beautiful ameraucana cross hen, Ed:

For the New years hatch a long, I managed to hatch 2 black-tailed sexlink roosters and 3 black-tailed sexlink hens. the daddy was my busy Japanese bantam again, in which the roos are inheriting their big tails and sickles from:

The daddy of these birds is Cadbury:

sorry...bad pic.

I can gladly sell any of these two cross breeds to anyone for the hatch. PM me if interested. ***surprise breeds may come out too! (silkie rooster lives with these hens as well)
