Good Mornin' everybody!! I woke up to 5 hatched chicks this morning!

And I got my first Royal Palm egg yesterday!

Morning all! man, do I wish I could see this in my coffee cup every morning!!!

we are FINALLY going to the beach memorial day weekend.....which is why we cant hatch for easter, but you all are just too great to not keep up with this thred!

Do you have pictures?

Just make a preemptive strike and smear the butts with mineral oil from the get go.

Mineral oil on 1200 chic butts!

I have hatched four times this year and none of the chicks had pasty butt. I had few with it last year and all of those were shipped eggs that had problems hatching.

Thanks for the tip! I need to see if I still have mineral oil. I had a bottle because it gets mustard stains out of clothes.

crazy4chicks.. I have to add, that I am in Utah..I love, love getting eggs from MO. and the mid states. At least for me, from that area to here, I have great luck on hatches. Not sure how the shipping would be from there to you, but I can say that it is good from there to here. Just a thought.

I must have just been lucky last year ! I received 9 eggs, 4 made it to lock down, 4 hatched and 3 were roos !! I'm not giving up yet, but I'll start looking at the Ameracaunas

I just candled the eggs in my bator.... still have 25 chicken and 4 duck eggs developing.

I am so happy, this incubation has been my best ever so far!

well to be honest... not much haha. they are pretty though. I've heard some people keep them on the bottom of finch aviaries and they will eat up the dropped feed and keep the cage cleaner, but I haven't tried it yet. i just look at mine lol

Oh....ok I just didn't know. Do you have a picture of any full grown?
