We had one easter egger hen for several years and it was always a treat to find a blue egg. If I had more room in the coop I would definitely get some blue egg layers or olive eggers.

And congrats on the new chicks! They're too dang cute!

yes the blue eggs are pretty cool and u be surprised at how many people never seen one... thank you best of luck to ur hatch

I would love to participate! I have Pekin duck eggs I am going to hatch!

There's my girl!!! This is one of my best friends...I've been pushing her to join us crazy chicken people. Welcome aboard, and don't forget to go to post 1 and do all of the contests...if you win something you don't want I'll gladly take it for you, lol!!!!

THe reverse is required for sexlinks.  Barred females and red or black males. SOrry.

Or maybe that is a good thing in this case , as anything with a white spot could be a girl or a boy, and same chance for the others without a white spot!!!

Lol! Figures. It's all good. If they're all boys, freezer camp. If they're all girls, they'll go back in the layer flock. But, based on feather sexing the ones I checked (2 with spots 1 without) I've got mostly girls!

Update......I know have 7 hatched. The last one just popped out 30 minutes ago. Still sitting in the shell. I have one pipped still. So I noticed that for some reason the chicks were not drying in the incubator which brought me to the conclusion that the humidity must be too high. So after awhile I put them in the brooder and they dried but not fluffy. It is like they all had hair product on and got stuck in the rain....ladies you know what I am talking about. That wonderful mat feeling. Anyway, should I wash them to loosen their down or should I leave them. What about the one that just hatched should I take it out and dry it off before the same thing happens? I took the paper towel that had absorbed the water from the wells and I think attributed to the humidity. Any advice?.
