Welcome!

ah the first day of spring- lol

Nice picture. But I REALLY want to know, is that a HUGE barn in the background? I want THAT!

Hatch complete, and feeling accomplished with it!!

I added aprox 50 eggs into the bator this morning for orders and my hubs Blue Salmon Favs .....

I have orders for big lots of brahma in the next few weeks, I will be adding like this as much as I can to get out orders!!
Pray the hens give us what we need and I think we need to build another bator like this to keep up, God is Good!

Now if the CCL would get some work done!!! aghhhhhhh
Well, at least you have them sold and aren't keeping all those chicks!

Apparently we're getting ready for a barbeque..

Oh my, that would be hilarious for a Caption Contest!

How many members are in the hatch-a-long compared to previous years?
How many are we up to now Mike? 207 participants last year. I think we've beat last year.

Some of us can, and some of us can't. Our weather has turned into spring for the days. Still getting down close to freezing at night, but loving the 50's in the days, and will hit 60 a couple of days here soon. Spring has sprung..for now. But, having said that...our state is known to trick us. The blossoms on our cherry, apple, pear trees could be popping out, and along comes a snow storm and freeze. Hoping that doesn't happen this year..we didn't have any cherries last year, and the apples were sparse. Crossing fingers we stay warm through that time.
That happened to my peaches last year.

Here we go, here are the babies.

Those are the three already dry ones.

This little light one is my "buddy" comes running toward me every time I come close. : love:( The two here are EE's.

The newest addition. Most of the eggs here in the pic have externally pipped, just waiting for them to zip.

Adorable! Congrats!

Is it ok if i set my turkeys today? they got here yesterday and I don't want to leave them out much longer since they are shipped eggs already.
Yep, you are within the 2 day window for setting.

Ok question I have a large order for hatching eggs for a friend can I put them in on Friday and still include them in the Hatch A long?
As in tomorrow or the following Friday?

These are the set days for the remaining :
Set Chicken eggs on Saturday, March 29th at Noon (whatever time zone you are in)

Other poultry breed setting dates listed below...

We want to hatch on April 19th, (the day BEFORE Easter Sunday)

button quail: 16 days to hatch; set April 3rd
coturnix quail: 18 days to hatch; set April 1st
seramas: 19 days to hatch; set March 31st
other bantam and LF: 21 days to hatch; set March 29th
bobwhite quail: 23 days to hatch; set March 27th
call duck: 26 days to hatch; set March 24th
mallard (derived) duck, goose, turkey, guinea: 28 days to hatch; set March 22nd
goose: 28 to 32 days to hatch; set March 18th - March 22nd

We would like people to set as close to noon on the set day as possible. For the number of eggs set, number eggs hatch contest, we are only able to count the eggs set +/- 2 days from the scheduled set day.
Yup! Thanks Mike!

I'm so excited! My dorking eggs will ship on Monday so theoretically they'll get here Wednesday!! The lady I'm getting them from has Urch and Horstman lines so I'm doubly excited!

We're going to set a mixture of mutt chicken eggs. However many will fit into the egg turner.

Some BCM x EE for olive eggers, and the rest will be covered by our EE roos or our BCM roo.

Hens include: RIR, Buff Orphintgton, SLW, GLW, BCM, Delaware and EE. I'm sure I missed at least one breed.
@sbarab

You are joining the hat a long?

Welcome it is great to have you here!

Just a question, do you have a fan in your bator? So far adding a fan has made all the difference in my hatch rate. Of course it doesn't change clears... lol

no fan, but think that will be definite thing to add for next week.

I, personally would recommend it. :) Others like the still air but, like I said before this is my best hatch ever and I accredit it to the new fan helping to keep the temp and keeping the oxygen moving around the eggs. :)
