Pretty close, just Large version. Love their beards and muffs. They are larger than the Ameraucana's, EE's, Auracanas..Especially the males. They have big black beards..very stunning.
So I found a breeder a while ago and purchased some Silver Americauna hatching eggs. His weather has been worse than mine, so it looks like those eggs won't be here in time for the HAL.
I'll be doing Pyle leghorns, mixed breeds, EE, and Salmon Faverolles.
Ok have the little guy in a bowl with a rag to keep him cozy. Didn't have room for it in the incubator so had to set him in the corner of the brooder. I managed to smear a little ointment around the naval area so now I guess it's a wait and see. Seems strong enough but still if that were to rip I imagine he would die of blood loss fast....on a happier note here's a pic of the babies in the brooder. Still have more hatching.
And then there's this little surprise...
Can't really see very well but this little guy seems to be a NN....A NN Silkie.
He came from a batch of Silkie eggs that of the 3 that have hatched so far he's the only one like this. I'm not really a fan but he's too adorable. Will def be staying around.
I miss having chicks! It has been months since the last time I was looking forward to pips and chicks. So now I'm really excited to be setting eggs for the Easter Hatch-a-long. These will (hopefully) be my first Isbars and welsummers, plus I plan to set some legbar eggs. Probably 6 of each type, its hard to decide!
long story short, went to atwoods 300 miles away from home.saw this Little chick being stomped in a 1.99$ tub asked to take it be for it dyed.got it and the other for company. Just adding too backyard mix.
Happy Chooks..... Thanks for your thoughts! I guess im just going to wing it! (ha no pun intended)......... I may put the new "egg sets" in a paper crate until the others are hatched just for a "security measure"...... I think I can... I think I can.... I think I can!!!
