While I didn't intend to do this hatch-a-long in particular - I am setting eggs today, so I guess I am hatching-a-long!

Do they actually say fertile eggs on them? Or just is the store eggs always fertile. I never noticed to look at the store bought eggs when I had them before, first off I wouldn't have even known what to look for, and now since I have chickens, I haven't bought any to even see.
Yes, they say fertile eggs on them. I guess some people think fertile eggs are better (to eat) for some reason.

I am hatching today and wanted to give an update on what went wrong:

I have the source of eggs/chicks separated by a 2.5 inch hardware cloth fence in my Styrofoam hatcher. The chicks are jumping the fence and are now mixed. Several BYC members have posted other ideas on how to keep egg source straight, I will be trying the plastic vegetable containers next time.

QUESTION - for those that WEIGH your eggs... I weighed mine when they arrived (all of mine are shipped) and I candled and marked air cells at that point too. Should I re-weigh mine this morning to note any changes or do you think it's okay to just set them? I got some on Wed, some Thur and some Fri.

I am quoting myself because I know with how fast this thread is moving that stuff gets buried quick! LOL am hoping someone can help me though?? I've never incubated before so not sure if I should re-weigh the ones from Wednesday...

OMGosh, I just realized I have 89 TOTAL eggs set...... Oh geeze, what will I do with them all. Hahahahahaaa thank goodness I got those two new cages yesterday!
