- @others - The most helpful thing I ever did to learn about candling and hatching was to keep a log on my eggs. You can number the eggs and keep notes according to number, or, sometimes, I make notes on the eggs themselves. When you candle and see something strange (to you) then make note of what it is and leave it in the bator. I don't pull eggs showing something unusual until lockdown and sometimes not then. It has taught me not to be so quick to toss them, sometimes they hatch!
There are exceptions. If it won't pass the sniff test (it smells "off") it is tossed. If it has a blood ring or is clear at 12 days, it is tossed.
All others get 21 days to make it.
Agreed! they would take up half of my barn!!!! but I want some sooo badly toooo, just because of how adorable and amazing they are!!!!!!These emus are just too friggin' cute. It makes me want one, and the last thing I need is a chicken the size of a pony, lol.
Her beak was a black cherry color as a chick with with wattles and growing spurs I thought she was a rooLOL still love the name!
