As long as you set the eggs on the right days (+/-2 days) they count in the guess how many eggs were set/guess how many will hatch contests.I hope it's not too late to count me in the hatch-a-long!!!! I set 7 eggs! 6 chicken(Jersey Giants) and 1 duck(magpie) egg!!!!!they are all showing veining!!!!!!! I set 3 eggs a half a day early because Jerseys take sometimes a day or two more to hatch. mine took just over half a day extra! so some for the early morning on sat and some probably for the evening!! sooooo excieted thoooo!!! hope I can be counted! I did set on the right days!! that's why only 1 duck egg is hatching on Saturday! lol
Now that is one cutie pie!
OMG, that is hilarious!Alrighty, this is too funny not to share. Last night I was worrued my thermometer was wrong, so I decided to go out and get a wiggler. After hitting 5 stores, I couldn't find the tube kind and had to improvise.
The only jelly filled item we found was a chickenBest part? The only access to take temperature is through it's butt.

Cream Legbars are autosexing, so you will know at hatch who are boys and who are girls. Wyandotte's are not auto sexing, so you have to wait on them. So, I am finally ready to post my count. I have a total of 31 eggs set.
24 were set 1:00 PM Central time today April 3rd.
10 of them are CCL eggs- Shipped ones
9 Bantam Chocolate Wyandotte's- Shipped ones.
5 Whole Foods Fertile Brown Eggs
7 were set in a separate incubator on April 1st at 7:00 PM.
6 of them are Whole Foods eggs
1 of them a shipped CCL
Here is a picture of my 24 egg tray
Also, does someone know if CCL and Chocolate Wyandotte chicks can be feather sexed?
Thanks!
You cancelled them?I just cancelled mine. They were set Monday at 2 pm. All 10 have spiders!!!!
I also just found that the last bantam to hatch has 5 toes!!!!
They are tiny! Congrats! It is super cute in fact all 4 of the bantams are. One has feathers on all 4 toes.
Here are 3 of them in their brooder box. The front is Zeo the fully feathered one. Then the black looks just like one that was posted yesterday. It's middle toes are pink and then the yellow hatched from a green egg. It's clean legged.
Welcome!I've never done a hatch-a-long, but I did set 14 backyard test eggs March 25 & another batch of 23 shipped eggs on April 1st. These projects are actually for my science students & our daughter's 4-H project. Since the hatch dates are close to Easter, I wouldn't mind joining & sharing my hatch rate. (Built my own incubator last month. So far so good.)
Whoa! That's a big egg! I've never had a duck egg.
That is really neat! Did you make it?
Welcome! If you set on the correct days, then yes, your eggs will be counted!I hope it's not too late to count me in the hatch-a-long!!!!
