I do not know of any that to that. It is not routine and involves vet checks and certificates. The country has to be on the list of Import Friendly for poultry too.

We cannon get eggs from places that have disease problems. Importing Ayem cemani from the Country they are from is impossible, so they have been imported from Sweden or one of those Nordic countries.

One thing that may be possible is to bring in Semen. You would of course have to have the same breed pullets but it is a way to get better genetics in.

Thanks and yes we do have some restictions here to get live day old chicksa, first the company ot breeder must have USDA vet approval and second they need to fax all of the paper to Arubian veterinaire dienst and if they approve it here they will send the buyer and the seller an fax or email with the approval and its valid for only 2 weeks

Went out to the coop to feed and change waters and my d'Uccle roo decided he was going to start being all roo-like and protective of his ladies. Instead of hopping off the top of the waterer like he normally does, he decided to cock-fight me instead. This is the first time I have ever gotten injured from a rooster spur. I now know what it is that people say when they are scared of bantie roos. He was one mean dude!

I'm really feeling down tonight. After losing two of our NYD chicks to the dog yesterday, I was hoping for some good news candling tonight. Well, I did not get it. A couple days ago, I did a quick candle and saw development in only 11 out of 30 eggs. Tonight I did my in depth candle to mark air cells and such, and only two of those 11 are definitely alive. 7 of them are most likely quitters (no movement, and veins look to be disintegrating), and 2 had blood rings.

So what are the main possible causes for quitting between days 5 and 7? Other than temps, which seemed fine to me (but I can't be sure because all my temps said something different).
if they are shipped eggs it may be damage to the egg itself

eggs may be old

if they are your eggs - have you hatched them before? - Inherited low hatchability is a common cause

lack of turning - differential effects due to an absence of turning between 0 to 2 days (primarily increased early mortality) versus 3 to 8 days (primarily increased late mortality)

Improper ventilation

Pullorum disease or other salmonelloses

Improper nutrition of breeders

overall the most common is temperature

Yeah, that was yesterday. Today, he got right down like normal. Huh, weird. He's my only d'Uccles roo and I need him...at least for now to make more. Probably sell him with the two breed standard ladies to some 4H kid later this year.

I just got the ok to breed, grow and whatever needs to be next.....seriously... ok so need to move forward...I am in Maine. ... thoughts or ideas??? I want to bring hard to find breeds back to Maine

Just finished candling and I'm very surprised & pleased to say I only pulled one egg - one I cracked last week & repaired, so the blood ring wasn't really unexpected.

Very happy to say the haircut on the BO roo seems to have done the trick, and most of them have obvious action. There MAY be five clears, but I'm not confident in that because they're all the same hen, her two other eggs have just barely visible veining, and she does make quite a shell.
I marked the questionable ones and every egg went back to the same spot in the styrobator to see if there was an area pattern, but there isn't. Go, eggs, go!

See if you can get some ideas from @superchemicalgirl

Check to see if there is a State thread too.
