most of the people who have NOT had issues with carbon dioxide poisoning at hatch and have kept the plugs in are also hatching out small volumes of birds for that incubator.. sure if I have a handful of eggs in an incubator I can probably get away getting all of them to hatch with a little carbon dioxide buildup (most commercial incubators have small vent holes drilled into the bottom of the bator for that reason).. however how many eggs is "safe" for no open vents?..3?.. 7?.. 10?.. 2 dozen?.. if you stuff an incubator to capacity and close off the vents at hatch it's just a recipe for disaster... humidity at hatch should be the least of your worries! So this is why I stress to people that vents should be wide open at hatch.. regardless of who may have told them differently.. because seriously.. after waiting 21 days.. 28 days.. 65 days.. who wants to risk it?

Quote: Yeah that's why I pointed out what bator I'm using. It's going to be different depending on what bator you are using, how many eggs you have set, and what species of eggs you are hatching. Everyone is going to have different experiences and methods that work for them depending on their set up and where they are located. There is no one right way to hatch eggs. Do what works for you. That's why test hatches with cheap eggs are important if you are new. You need to figure out what works for you before investing in pricey eggs.![]()
I'm still trying to figure out how to hatch turkeys. I've tried two different methods from two different people so far and neither have worked for me. Thankfully I have my own eggs to try with and didn't fork over a ton of money for turkey eggs.
Very true!
Congrats! Sorry it wasn't the blue you were hoping for.Well then! Guess I was right..noises in the morning woke her up. It's not like it's a real noisy house around here..it's just my DH and myself, but me going in and out of the room probably helped wake her up. I went in to check before we left, and she was out. Not a blue.Chipmunk baby..they are cute too, and if it's really a girl, I want her..those blue eggs are purty!
The mental image of this is hilarious!I just had to rescue my husband's chihuahua from the guinea flock...![]()
I don't know why but they seem to have it out for her. I opened the door and the dog runs right in and there was the head guinea standing in the entrance way. She turned around and left as soon as the dog was in the house.
We clearly have too many guineas if they think they can go around beating up on dogs (even if she is a tiny one).

check the eastern/southern states, the US government stopped subsidies of tobacco growers around 2005 and most of the tobacco patches are gone. Hospice in those areas would be another source in addition to craig's list...........sad but true.....I don't know why they had the warning on the packs but continued the subsidies for decades.i know you have told me
