Trying to hold on to patience and hope. Nothing further in the two pipped eggs. No movement, nada. I keep telling myself that they need to absorb the yolk and stuff, but it's been 12 hours. At least one egg is chirping. Can't tell if it's one of the pipped ones or not. The humidity in the incubator has started falling. It was 67, now down to 61. I am going to spritz with hot water. :fl
It is resting. It will start hatching when it's ready. It's okay!
Today is the start of day 28 and i have five mixed breeds in the incubator temp at 99.5 and humidity at 73% and not 1 egg has pipped. Is this normal? When will they pip?
Day 28? Is that a typo? If it is truly day 28, I'd candle them to see if anything is alive.
I have 6 lavender orpingtons that hatched yesterday. But I'm waiting on my other incubator. No sign of movement. And last night the temperature randomly spiked to over 102 and I haven't touched it. Stupid LG! :(
I had to jump to the end. Congrats everyone on their hatches, and pips, and zips! This is what it's all about, right??? I was sad that none of my Call eggs pipped, but 1, to even give me a chance at getting them out...BUT my one little baby is sooo cute, and I'm grateful to have her. Meet Piper!! Better pics later!! My official hatch results: 1 Call Duckling
So glad you got a duckling, but sorry you didn't get more!

I thought I was hearing chirping over night. Two piped and one already out and drying. Healthy little thing, from pip to zip and out was less than an hour.

Looking about to set up the brooder. See I need to get some bedding. I'll be ready and have it out when dry.

Awesome! I love it when they hatch fast like that.
I waited a little long to set up my brooder as well. A chick hatched yesterday, busted out of the egg like the Kool-aid man, and I realized 'Crap!'... I need to buy more pine shavings! But I got it done, and now that chick is all stretched out sun bathing under the heat lamp.

Looks like Petunia went 8/8 on her hatch. last night 5/8 had hatched. This morning I saw no whole eggs under her sides so I felt under her for eggs and found just tiny legs and baby fuzz. Lifter her up just for a second and saw the team all huddled together and the fragments of at least two more shells.

Norma also has 8 and at least two have hatched

They were all super vigorous looking in the the shell Tuesday night so I am hoping her hatch goes as well as Petunias! I could hear her babies but couldn't see them. know there are at least two because I pulled the shells out. they are text book. These are little heritage sex link hybrids from my own flock so I imagine they are strong little things.

7 at start. 6 at lockdown, 5 hatched so far. 1 still hasn't piped. I moved 3 early the hatchlings to the brooer. The one that had sideways pip I assisted it and it was up running around in the incubator last night. This morning it was dead. I got it and the other hatchling out.

Those now you don't see em now you do chicks are great. One of my broodies was one of those. Checked the bator and nothing, watched an hour of TV then checked again and there she was.

Darling babies! One of my broodies is a Polish mix. She is a crack up! What is you polish baby's other parent?

WOW! way too many posts to even try to keep up. CONGRATS to all with their new additions. I have around 50 out of 77 that have hatched so far...... Pics to follow after hatch is complete.

They are duck eggs

ok, make sure the humidity stays high, stay out of the incubator, and they should be fine. My ducks always took 28-29 days, and needed No HELP to hatch. Once they were ready, wow did they pop out easily and quickly! My Sebbie geese too...I'd see a pip, get excited, walk away, and sometimes come back to see the baby all hatched and out resting! Find something to do that keeps you super busy and away for a while. I think they will hatch when they are ready.
