My best hatch EVER!!!
I locked down 30 eggs And 29 hatched I opened the other egg it was not fertile. All of my fertile eggs hatched!!!!!

I could say..NO FAIR..but I'll say.....CONGRATULATIONS!! Sure is fun when that happens isn't it?

This olive egger just hatched. One bugged eye and cross beak. This is my first ever hatch. Is this something that might correct itself since it was squished in the egg? Something it can live with? The bugged eye does not seem to be able to close. Thanks

I don't know about the bugged eye, but the cross beak tends to get worse.

Another question - is a little bit of blood on the chick's bottom okay?

Not sure you got an answer yet..just catching up..but yes, I put neosporin on their cord area. Hoping that's what you meant when you said bottom

Final hatch for me is 41. 42.7% hatch rate. That is bad for me. Had a lot of non fertile eggs this time around.

9-Naked Necks
25- Easter Eggers
4-Fully Feathered Naked Necks (Guess I'll have to call them mix breed chickens).
1-Wheaten Ameruacana
2-Light Brahma/Wyandotte crossbreds.
41-Total

Set 61 more last week, so I'll have another hatch in 2 weeks. Setting again next wee, just not sure how many yet.

That is a nice hatch all right..and I love NN's.

All of your chicks are so stinkin cute! My hatch rate was only 23% It's my fault. My temp spiked to 110 a few days before lockdown. I had one serama hatch on time, and all of the others hatched on Day 19 and 20 with open navels. The one still had some yolk sac hanging out. It still does and is in the coffee mug. It's drying up though and will hopefully fall off without issues. If he survives I'm keeping him. Him and the serama are the cutest ones Only 5 hatched out of the 10 eggs that I didn't throw away because of clears.

Heres 3 of my hatch along chicks!! Dominique roo and austrolorp hens. So stinking cute!! Not sure how to tell which is hens and roos thgh.

Yes, the beak will get worse, but can survive..not sure that the eye will be an easy think for it to live with.

If I were to go by combs already, I would .. guess..that the middle one is a boy

. Pretty early to really tell though. Cute!
